Paige and Sarah B - Outlander: ABOSAA

Just finished A Breath of Snow and Ashes last night. It took be forever to get through it with everything going on, but I really liked it. The ending made me very happy, but sad at the same time (in a good way, I think).

SPOILERS below!!

I love that Claire and Jamie are going back! I hope we get to see Jenny again. She was such a fun character. Even though it made me really sad to see them go, I also love that Briana and Roger made it back through with the kids. It will be interesting seeing them in the future. Ian's story made me really sad. Poor guy. I hope that he finds happiness before this series wraps up. He's one of my favorites.

My last comment is that I love how DG goes for it and doesn't shy away from controversial topics like incest and rape. I just love her for making the stories more real.

Re: Paige and Sarah B - Outlander: ABOSAA

  • I honestly dont even know what to say about this book.... I love how she weaves in so many stories and intricit (spell check) details. I think you are right that by adding all the controversial topics it does make things more real. Those things happened (happen) and it is important not to overlook that.

All your comments about this particular book make me very excited for your comments on the next book. I can't wait to see what you think of how things have turned out so far. This was the book she finally said who Jemmys dad is right? I love how that revalation came about. What a creative way to do it.

  • I must have picked up and put down Snow a dozen times before I finally sat down to read it. I had the hardest time getting into that one, but once I was in ... I was IN. You know how it goes!

I can't remember specifics about each book anymore (it's so bad, and right now I blame pregnancy).

Echo is a lot different than the other books. Parts of it upset me because I wanted the whole family together. But it's really good, and ends with a cliffhanger as DG is famous for!

Yes! I can't believe I forgot to mention that. I cried when I read it. Made me so so so happy!

    Also, I hate Jocosta.

I'm nervous for them to not be together. I love them all together, but I think having them apart has potential for a great story. Especially with the box that C & J left that B & R opened in the epilogue of this book. If it's a cliffhanger, I might have to hold off on it until it's closer to the next book coming out! I think ABOSAA ended nicely for a breaking point.

Oh, and can I just say that I LOVE that Jamie is seeing them in his dreams! Do you think that his ghost is seeing them? Like in Outlander when Frank sees a ghost, that he describes to look like Jamie, looking at Claire? I don't know how DG has written these with everything connecting so well. It's super impressive.
