for those looking to lose weight in 2012

do we want to try a weekly check in for a bit. we have done this in the past and it might be useful. whether looking to lose 8 or 80 i know having some support is useful (i lost 30 lbs in 2008 on WW and have kept about 25 of it off but it is HARD let me tell you!) happy to do this!

Re: for those looking to lose weight in 2012

  • I would love to!  If I am not militant, it won't happen.  Can we add something like a "tip of the week" as well.  Just something that worked really well that week, or something like that.
  • i don't share numbers but i could most definitely use some accountability with getting back to working out regularly. i had a decent routine down earlier this year but have been a big slacker since well before thanksgiving.

  • I'd be game for that!

Congrats on your 30lb weight loss and for keeping most of it off for almost 4 years. That's awesome.

  • thanks VTK...this time of year of course it creeps back up (the cookie gtg a few years ago almost did me in!) but i have not crossed a certain threshold that i set for myself.

and love the tip of the week idea! and we don't have to share anything we don't want too as usual!

  • I love the tip of the week idea too.  If we could all share one thing that has been working for us personally that week/month/day it could help us all.
  • Sounds great to me.  I used to go to the WW meetings, and I loved it when folks shared tips - I especially loved it when they shared food or recipes that were light and delicious as well.
  • I have been MIA due to work, but would love to be part of this, I lost 10 pounds from October to mid-December, but they are already creeping back with all of the holiday foods.

  • I'm in - we just got a treadmill so I can walk an hour a day (bc I am too lazy to go outside when its cold) and I've been ... okay. More like every other day, to be honest.  I'd love tips from others.

I'll share first -- I am throwing away all of the candy, cookies, etc., tonight. Trash day is tomorrow. We do not need it. If we keep it, we will eat it. So I am wasting food and throwing it away, tonight. (I could save it and take it to the office on Tuesday -- most of the cookies are packaged, and not even opened yet) but then I'm just carrying the problem 30 miles. No one wins.

Easy (quick, few ingredients) dinner recipes are most appreciated! I've been off work since 12/16 and have loved getting back into cooking every night...
