by DH's aunt on fb. I think I'm going to have to hide her. I might be overreacting, but between her and my trainwreck of a sister I've had about all I can take of family stupidity.
Status update 12/23: "How do I get myself in these situations? .67 Cents to my name till Jan 3Rd. Wow I am rich."
Later that day: "Thank you so much to a good fried and family member for helping me. God bless you. Now I know I wont have to be hungry for Christmas."
Today's status: "I have a back massager that's never been out of the box. Obviously I don't need it so I'd like to sell it. Cheap. I'd like mula for cigs."
My private message to her:
"****** are you freaking kidding me? You always talk about how you have very little money and you're wasting what you have on cigarettes? Don't ever post that shyt on facebook. You have the nerve to post about how you have $.67 to your name less than a week ago and you still want to spend money on a ridiculous habit? I can't believe you'd have the nerve to post something so stupid on a public website.
Maybe cigs was a typo. Did you mean food or rent?"
Sure, maybe that was harsh. But I don't care anymore. I am tired of watching relatives spend their money (and the government's money) on crap they don't need and then beg for help and seek attention.
Sidenote: This is a lady who is on disability because she's morbidly obese. She's been known to whine about not having a job and not being able to get one because then she wouldn't get her disability check. And that's why she's broke.
Re: I'm being driven nuts (probably flameful)
You were completely out of line. It would be one thing if this were YOUR aunt, but this is your H's aunt and you just started a whole world of shyt with his family because you don't agree with how she spends her money. Do I? Hell no! But if you can't stand seeing her status updates, you unfriend her. It was not your business to send her that message.
What does your H think of your little outburst? If I did that to someone in my H's family (unless I was being personally attacked), he would be LIVID. And he'd have every right to be. You just potentially hurt HIS relationship with HIS family.

Well, as long as he doesn't care about alienating his family... I guess all is well in Whoville.

This made me laugh.
I don't disagree with anything you said in your first post. And I know that starting sh*t on fb is childish. I knew H wouldn't care. We're both tired of alot of crap our families try to pull. No one ever calls this aunt out on her sh*t, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I don't much care if she has a problem with me.
What did you hope to accomplish with your "call out"? You have to know she wont change any of the behaviors you disagree with. She's trash, she will remain trash. But now you're on her radar and I wouldn't be surprised if she starts bad-mouthing you to mutual friends/family. This just opened up a can of worms that will never be closed, with no actual purpose.
I would just unfriend her at this point and just move on. Smokey McGee will always be b1tching about how broke she is, and in the next (raspy, phlemgy) breath, talking about how she purchased cigarettes or other completely unnecessary items. Instead of driving yourself nuts... remove yourself from the situation.

My main goal was to get her to think before she posts her entire life on fb. I know she won't change and I'm 99% sure she won't think before she posts anything. I really want people to realize that not every cry for attention brings them the positive attention they're looking for. I'm sure it was a complete waste of my time. Oh well.
And if she starts bad mouthing me.......... that would be AWESOME! It would bring me much delight to hear anything she can come up with . That would be hilarious.
Oh, and I finally got a message back (and her status was taken down) that's some bullshyt about trying to help a friend...... I'm not really sure what it means......
"i have friends i also help out that do for me. They clean and we share food ect. Maybe i shouldnt have posted that publicly but i am trying to help a good friend. If thats wrong then whatever."
You sound immature.
We all have annoying Facebook friends/family but you either hide them, delete them or screen cap that shiit and send it to Failbook.
Sending a message like that just makes you look like a jerk with poor impulse control and no filter. Maybe you guys have more in common than you think?

We miss you and love you always, little firecrackers!
I am terribly immature sometimes. I'm ok with that.
And my message to her was super filtered. Oh if you knew the things I'd often like to say to people. It's why I enjoy TIP.

I guess if your H doesn't care good for you!
My aunt is frequently complaining on FB about money problems. Yet they have tons of pets. Um, if you're having to choose between mortgage or medicine and you have 10 pets (dogs, cats, hamster); you're priorities are out of whack. I get that pets are part of the family; I'd be so sad if we had to give Penny away to another home because she's our baby and a part of our family. However, I don't want to have to choose between my house and my health. If we were strapped for money, we'd cut all other extras out and we still couldn't make it work we'd find her a good home. So my sympathy is minimal for her.
