Q about gift from secretary
My secretary gave me a homemade jar of something for Christmas. It was very sweet & thoughtful of her. She's not in today but I know she's going to ask me if I liked, I don't know what it is.
It's a red thin liquid in a mason jar with a pretty Chirstmas-y fabric cover. It doesn't really have a smell. I didn't taste it. I really don't know what it is. Is it decorative? Is it edible? I have no clue.
I feel bad. I don't want her to think I'm ungrateful, especially since it was apparently made with love. Can I just ask her? That feels awkward but what other choices do I have?
Re: Q about gift from secretary
This. When I make jar gifts, I put a tag on it or in a card, so the person doesn't have to guess! Is it just liquidy? Could it be a home made syrup of some sort?
If you can't figure it out from the above suggestions, I'd just ask her. "Thanks for the lovely homemade gift. I can't wait to use it. Where do you think it would work best?"
Hopefully she'll come in and ask if you like [mystery gift identified here] and you can smile and say thanks
