what do you take for lunch?

For almost the last 8 months I have been taking frozen meals, I need something different!

Re: what do you take for lunch?

  • Leftovers.  When planning meals I try to make enough that I'll be able to take it for lunch the next day or two if need be.  I ate frozen meals for probably 2 or 3 years and I can't do them anymore.

If I don't have leftovers, I'll bring a sandwhich and chips/fruit.  Usually lunch meat, but if I don't have any, a PB&J is always a possibility!

  • I take leftovers most of the time.  My backups include:

    Cheese and crackers

    A cheesy

    Chips and salsa

    PB&J

    Pretzels with PB

    Yogurt and a granola bar

    Nuts and a string cheese

I always bring some sort of fruit or veggies and a treat.

I can't do frozen meals.  I had a lot before getting pregnant with Evan and now they disgust me.

  • Mostly leftovers.

We also do PB & jelly, a black bean wrap (really good, I have the recipe at home and it make a ton that you can freeze, this is also good as a dip with chips), soup, salads (in the summer I do a pasta salad or a ham & bean salad that is good for a light lunch).

I snack a lot.  Trail mix in the morning.  A fruit in the afternoon.  Some chocolate or cheese and crackers in between.

I do some fast food- soup from Mangia, chicken sandwich from Arby's, Jimmy Johns.  Depends on if I am picking E up from pre-school or not.

  • I dont take it as much I used to, I need to start again though. What I used to bring varied on what sounded good at the time I went to the store and what produce is on sale. I like the green giant frozen veggies that are for one or two people, I will bring those and eat them with my lunch quite a bit.

Frozen meals with a side item like fruit, crackers, cheese, light chips or a veggie

    Soup with crackers and cheese

Soy corn dogs and light chips

frozen vegetarian burritos, light chips, yogurt or cheese

    Sandwich, veggies, cottage cheese

    Meat and cheese and crackers

    toast with soup and fruit

    leftovers

    baked potato with toppings

  • My usual is yogurt for breakfast and soup w/crackers for lunch. I stock up on the good soups when they're cheap and I have coupons :) Then I try to bring a veggie or fruit for snack in the afternoon.

  • Cajun turkey, cheese, shitton of spinach, and mustard on multi-grain bread with an apple at 3:00. Every. single. day. (including Saturday.) Hell, I'm home on vacation, and I'm eating it right now!

  • Another vote for leftovers. I rarely do anything frozen, bit if I do its Indian-something-or-other from Trader Joes. I notice that if I don't pack my lunch the night before I usually grab something frozen or go to the cafeteria here.
