Any recommendations on dehumidifiers?
I read that it's best to keep a dehumidifier in the basement to make it harder for any mold and mildew to grow, has anyone ever used one of these before? Any recommendations?
Re: Any recommendations on dehumidifiers?
Does your basement feel damp? Or does it have a musty smell? If it doesn't, then you probably wouldn't have a mold/mildew problem.
Our house is very damp (we don't have a basement, but on a crawlspace). I went to lowes and bought a dehumidifier, and the difference was amazing. Dropped the humidity and took out the musty smell.
I think this is the one I bought.. here

We live in an incredibly humid country so dehumidifiers are not an option, they are a necessity! If we don't have them on, envelopes tend to seal themselves shut!
We have a portable dehumidifier that we have run non-stop for almost 4 years. It is still going strong
It is Whirlpool dehumidifier (model number SS207). It is relatively small and easy to move. It also has the option to run a drain pipe out of it to have continuous drainage. The downside is, if you don't have the continuous drainage in, then you need to remember to empty the reservoir.
Hope this helps!
