Hey, you people that knit!
I have a pair of socks my Mom knitted for me. I love them. So much. She said they were a complete pain in the arse to make and I've begged for more socks and she (at this point) refuses.
So maybe I should learn to do this myself.
Tell me...is it really that hard?

Crap. I might give it a go anyway, and end up frustrated and embarrased.
Knitting seems persnickity. I've done it a little. I don't think it's that bad, but I knit in the round with circular needles. For socks you'd need to use the double pointed needles which aren't bad, but they're pretty hard to get started if you ask me.
