NYE Plans

What are everyone's plans for NYE?

L and I are having my BFF and her husband over to his place for board games, XBOX, Wii and drinking.  Should be a fun yet low-key night Smile

Re: NYE Plans

  • Nada! Well, I'll be hanging out with just my 2 little kids, so our big plans include building and coloring a cardboard house and space ship, a toast of chocolate milk at 8pm, and then bed by 9. Oh, the exciting single life that I lead LOL

    Ridley Run 3.1 - 4/9/11 - 34:24 - 1st race evah!
    Kelly Monaghan's 5K - 5/15/11 - 3rd Place in AG
    Walk the Talk 5K - 5/18/11 - 31:12 PR
    Ridley Run 3.1 - 4/14/12 - 1st race of the year, 32:45
  • I like low-key on NYE!  We're just headed north to my aunt's house to spend it with their family.  I think it will be low-key as well. I went out to a huge party last year and it wasn't much fun, honestly.  People got totally crazy.

  • I have no idea...my dance studio used to do a big dance party with exhibitions and stuff every year as part of my town's NYE celebration, but due to budget cuts, the town couldn't rent space for us this year.  I don't think we're doing anything at the studio instead, so that sort killed my NYE plans...which sucks, since it was at that party last year that BF first kissed me!

So, I'm tentatively planning a low-key night at BF's, including cooking a fancy dinner to celebrate our anniversary, champagne, Rock Band, a fire in the fireplace, and cuddling/smooching/etc.

  • Going out in NYC with another single girlfriend. We are dressing up and being fabulous, even if we drink boxed wine in her shoebox of an apt!

C and I are heading to his brother/SIL's house.  They are having a gathering of 10-15 people for good food, good company, and great spirits!

I, too, prefer a low key night.  Plus, I have to head back to take care of my dogs at some point, so it's better to be close by.

C and I are also celebrating our one year anniversary.  We met for drinks on 12.30.10 and then had our official first date on 01.01.11.

Things are progressing wonderfully and I couldn't be happier!

    Congrats!

  • We are meeting some friends at a local hole-in-the-wall type bar that has awesome microbrews on tap, for cheap!  Then, we'll stumble across the street to their apartment for the countdown/balldrop/champange toast.

  • Mr. K and I are probably going to go to a local dive and listen to a band. ORRRR stay home and play battleship!

I am not a big fan of going out on NYE, I think people get a little too wild for me.

They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
  • I'm bringing my DS with me to a my BFF's sister's house (mansion) lol.. she has a big bash every year.. Just hope to make it through the countdown with no tears.. lol  Buh bye 2011!  Can't wait for 2012!! :)
  • I have to work in the morning but after that I will probably just hang out at home with H and fall asleep on the couch long before I see the ball drop!

We actually have a wedding to go to on Friday and I don't think I can handle doing the drinking/going out thing 2 nights in a row, I'm not as young as I used to be.Stick out tongue

The house was way better than the space ship.

  • We are having a quiet night at home with DS, a bottle of Korbel for us and hot  chocolate for DS. I haven't decided if I want to drink it by itself or mix it in to a cocktail.

  • I have no idea what we're doing for NYE - maybe hanging out with some friends, but nothing super big or exciting. Which is fine by me.
  • My friends, a married couple I teach with, invited me and our other single pal (my gay boyfriend) from work over for a night of eating, drinking, and board games. Looking forward to it because last year I did NOOOOOOTHHHHHIIIIINGGG!!!
  • BF and I are just having a night in, complete with Wii bowling, movies, cuddling, local wine I'm bringing back from Texas, etc.
  • bartending :) I think I'll get a top hat to wear for the occasion.
    Vacation
  • BF and I are going to dinner at this local place we like. It's where we go when we want a nicer dinner or for special occasions. We were invited to a party at a friend of mine's house, but they live over an hour away and we aren't sure if we want to drive that far with the drunkards. We may opt for a movie at home.
  • SO and I are going down to Detroit, going to a nice dinner and then hitting a bar he wants to go to followed by the Red Wings game and then the casino. It is his birthday so he already pretty much has it all planned out haha.

  • I'm taking my kids to Disney! I'm trying to replace unhappy memories (1/1 was my wedding anniversary) with new fun, and warm, ones!!

  • I have my cousin's wedding, most likely non-alcoholic because that side of the family doesn't drink. The wedding is expected to be over by 10 pm because it isn't about New Year's Eve, it's about their wedding. So, I am hoping to skip out early and go on a party bus with my friends!
