30th bday locations?

My husband is turning 30 in Feb. and I would like to throw him a party.  Looking for somewhere that we could reserve either part of a bar/restaurant or maybe a small party room and just order some party platters and pitchers of beer, nothing too fancy.  Probably no more than 20-25 people.  Only place I've thought of is Fox & Hound.  Any other suggestions?  TIA!

Re: 30th bday locations?

  • The Dundee Dell has a party room
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I had DH's 40th at the Old Market Tavern (I think that's the name??) On the corner of 10th & Something...right across from the Embassy Suites.  You can rent out the whole bar, but we didn't and really it's wasn't that busy, but it was the day after Christmas, so that might have been why.  :)  Either way, we had the party at like 7 and really no other customers came into the place until almost 9 or 10, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves for a long time.  There is a little room in the back where they will let you bring in your own food and stuff to set up in there for free, so we did that, bought a few pitchers of beer and stuff for people, otherwise the bar was open for anything else.
  • I was going to say Fox & Hound or Upstream?
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • Fox and hound does seem to have a pretty good system down for this. I have also been to DJs dugout for a party.  Also, Old Chicago on cass accomodated a work group well on a Friday for us.
  • The Phoenix on 120th and Blondo.  I went to *ahem* a baby shower there.  Lol!

    Yes

  • Phoenix has a great little party room as does Brazen head.  We used Brazen Head for dh's surprise party. But I have used the Phoenix for a baby shower and some GTG's for the volunteers of our sale.

Between the 2, Brazen head is cozier but both would work fine for your numbers.

  • I had DH's surprise 30th at Old Chicago downtown, no party room but we had reserved tables by the pool table. Ordered pizza's & the like. My college grad party was at Farrel's on 10th & something downtown. The owner guy is sort of a douche, kept going back and forth about some stuff in the contract but the say of was awesome. Food is great, the party room has tv's and I never had an empty drink. My 30th was at DJ's on 114th. Also good, we had half of the party room. We let people order off the menu & brought in a cake. HTH!

  • We had mine at the Varsity in Bellevue but there is multiple locations in Omaha.  If you go with downtown Upstream you can order food and get part of the back room/pool area reserved for your party but you have to order like 250 dollars worth of food if you go that route.
