Dr. update

So I went to the doctor and he said there was nothing on my u/s. He said that may be because the lump is so small right now. I have to go in for regular checks on it to make sure it's not getting any bigger. The only thing he told me is that I have high cholesterol and need to bring it down soon so I don't have to be on medication for that as well. I almost want to go and get a second opinion on the matter because it's weighing so heavily on my mind right now. But for the time being, I will wait and see if I notice any change.

I thank each and every one of you for sending those powerful vibes, hugs, and T&P's my way. I have to go back in 2 weeks to have another follow-up and hopefully I will be able to breathe easy once again.

Re: Dr. update

  • I'm glad the Dr says there's nothing there right now, but I too would want a 2nd opinion. Continued vibes that everything is OK!

  • That's good news!  I hope the follow ups go just as well.

  • Everything MO said.  ((HUGS)) that at least you have a little piece of mind right now, but you are still in my thoughts.

  • Thank you ladies. I will continue to update with hopefully more good news. For now I'm off to find out how to lower my cholesterol. Heart disease runs in the family so I better get on this now.
  • I agree with everything MO said as well.  I'm glad to hear that it appears to be good news. I will continue to keep you in my T&P's, and please continue to keep us updated.

  • Good news so far - we will continue the T&Ps.

Get more information regarding the cholesterol issue.  I have terrible family history of heart disease, and my cholesterol is >260.  However, all my cardiac testing came back good, and the cholesterol ratios are fine (high 'good' number, low triglicerides) that my cardiologist said I don't need the medication.  He does want me to continue to exercise and eat well, but a high total number in and of itself doesn't necessarily warrant medication.  Cholesterol meds are rough on your liver, and shouldn't be taken unless necessary.

I have been looking for more information already. I've got a new diet plan already set in place. There is such a bad history of heard disease in my family that this comes to no surprise. Not many people on my dad's side of the family live past 60. I'm going to do all I can to lower cholesterol and be healthy.  I don't want any more medication, I already take something for the headaches (that I've had every day for the past 3 years). The dr. wants to put me on BCP and I don't want to add anything else to that. I hate taking pills lol. I'll do everything in my power to stay off them if I can. I actually found this website that will plan your meals on a weekly basis. It gives you food that is a better option that the usual crap you would eat. I'm going to start that as soon as I get to the grocery store and try and keep up with it.
