Anyone use Ecos detergent from Costco?

Is it safe for HE machines?

Is it CD safe?

Is it cheap?

We are having a hell of a time getting detergent (the homemade stuff and Eco Sprouts for CDs) to fully dissolve with our new HE washer.  Plus, I'm getting lazy and just want to use one thing for everything for awhile.

TIA!

Re: Anyone use Ecos detergent from Costco?

  • Maybe you've already seen this chart, but we use Kirkland's version of all free and clear...it says here that all free and clear is a lot better for CD's than the Kirkland version apparently. Can you just use All F&C? We used it with our HE before Costco came out with their own and I thought it worked great....they sell it at Costco too, I believe for a pretty good price. Obviously I have no CD experience, but maybe it would be OK?

  • We've used it in the past in our front loader with no problems. Can't answer the cloth diaper questions, but I think it got our clothes just as clean anything else I've used. I want to say I paid around $10 or $12 for the large container (they usually had a coupon every few months, too), so I thought that that was pretty cheap especially considering that I saw a bottle half the size at Target selling for the same price. We also use the Kirkland detergent that PP mentioned and really like that too.
