DH took the munchkin to the pediatrician on Friday. Ped walked in and said "good thing you came, that's concerning". He referred us to a pediatric opthamologist so I called to schedule an appt. I was told by Mass Eye & Ear/ Children's Hospital that it's not urgent at 3 months and I am more than welcome to schedule an appt (booking at least 2 months out) or I can wait til she's 6 months and if it's still an issue, she'll be seen urgently within two weeks.
We didn't love that answer but have talked to several professionals and it seems to be normal. The daycare provider does some tracking exercises with her to help out in the meantime and we'll wait to see what happens!
Re: f/u to cross-eyes
Well, that's a good response from the ped! Not great from the opthamologist, but oh well...
That's great that your DCP will also work with you!
I agree. Hopefully it will still work itself out out, but at least you have started the process in case it doesn't.
My mom ran into her opthamologist on Saturday and he looked at pictures and said we should wait til 6 months too. We have caught her several times looking straight ahead so we know she can do it at least once in a while!
Yeah, I think DD was around 6 months or later so that may have been why he saw her. I've also heard that if you see them doing it more when they are tired, it's not as big of a concern. Just an FYI. Here's to her growing out of it!
I would be frustrated as hell to wait, even if it is normal. You are a patient lady.
(by the way, cross-eyed or not, she sure is cute as a button! I love the new pics on FB. )
I think for some reason pregnancy & motherhood has helped me find an inner calm (or being so familiar with the medical field). I don't want to stress her out either so I've taken an attitude to not worry unless I have reason to worry (easy at this point I guess).
And thanks, she, like all our nestie babies, are pretty darn cute!
