I've never tried to do this before, but we and another couple are going to try to have dinner saturday night before heading to parties (finally got invited to something!). ideas? I don't even know where to start because I'm afraid places will either already be booked or be trying to sell an expensive prix fixe menu. I haven't asked her what price range yet, but I think maybe $30/person total? So, not pricey, but not McDonalds.

I haven't been but someone was just telling me they had a great meal at Laredos. I feel like Mexican food too!
I *love* Golden Beetle. (Apparently I've been 10 times this year - says OpenTable!)
That said - what are you looking for? They are good for tapas style food, but typically only have 4-5 entrees on their menu.
I'm assuming you took into consideration location vs. where you're ending up that night?
not sure what we're looking for honestly, open to trying something new! as far as location, we have a couple options. her friends have a party in Queen Anne and my friends are in Fremont/north Lake Union - so I figured we'd be ok with a range of locations.

The menu on GB's website is pretty close to what they usually have. Their portions are small - the Lamb Kibbeh Meatballs are 4 to a plate.Spicy Chicken wings are 6 or 8 to a bowl. But as I said - its more meant to be tapas style. Their entrees are huge - though I've only actually had an entree there once.
