Gym Recs?
In Omaha, my gym got bought out by Aspen, so our membership was only $35/month for my husband and I. I went to the Aspen in Hickman yesterday, and while I loved it, I cannot bring myself to pay $75/month.
All I need are the basics (treadmill, elliptical, free weights, etc.). Are there any smaller gyms around here, that are decent?

you should be able to find an Anytime Fitness or Snap, I think both of those are cheap.
If you wanted to, I'd let you use my Aspen membership while I'm doing Ferrell's.
Unfortunately, all the "big" gyms in the DSM area are going to be at least that much. Most Y's are about $80/family, and the healthy living center Y and prairie life run about $115. I think that seven flags in the most affordable when we were looking into it? but it is still pretty pricey. the 24/7 no-frill gyms are going to be the most affordable (anytime, snap). They are nice and a great choice if you don't mind not having classes or a pool.
also, keep your eye out for groupons, dsm deals, etc. i see awesome deals all the time on different fitness opportunities. if we didn't have the healthy living center membership (paid for by my working 2 hrs/week there), i'd be buying all the great work out deals on groupon and using them back to back.
