New Years Resolutions... have we discussed?

Have we discussed our goals for this upcoming year??

I have a couple...

1) Get healthy and exercise more!

2) Read more books

3) Organize my house and donating a lot of my kids' stuff

and this is the most important one

4) Be a nicer person... ugh, I can just be such a *** and I always feel bad after so I am going to really work on being nice even when I don't want to.

Re: New Years Resolutions... have we discussed?

  • NYR don't work for me... so I'll just stick to what did work and that was just committing to a healthier me last year, and I'll continue to read vs. watch the boob tube as my granny calls it.

I could stand to be nicer, less bitchy too - but that is not realistic because I'm a crab, and I like to live in my shell, with my mood swings and only share my true self with those close to me. :)

  • Me neither. I prefer "goals"... my big goal is to take care of myself so that a) the babies can cook as long as possible and b) I can be around for a looooooong time for my kids. To do that, I need to eat healthier, drink more water, exercise, etc.
  • I'm not big on NYR either, but I am going to try really hard to get fit. We'll be done having kids, so there goes my last excuse.

I also need to work on my patience. I tried this year, but it's an ongoing battle for me.

  • Last year my resolution was the join the gym and get back into a work out routine. I did pretty well, but haven't been at all in the last month between the holidays and being sick for 2 weeks early in December. My membership runs out on Saturday and unfortunately they're not running the same $99 deal for 12 months like they were last year, but they do have a $0 down, $10 a month thing going on that I'll probably sign up for. My goal is to get back into the routine that worked so well for me earlier this year.

  • Mostly I just want to get my home organized. I'm slowly purging stuff (selling some on Ebay, Craigslist) especially since I will need to make room for a baby next year. Our closets get so darn messy, bathrooms are messy and dirty, etc.  I'm so sick of looking at it.  SO that's my main goal for 2012.

  • 1. To try to get into work earlier.  I was already bad.  Now with LO, I've gotten worse.

    2. To try to be more active.

  • To quit cursing.

    To stay healthy.

  • To make time for DH and myself.

To be open-minded and supportive of whatever comes my way as DH pursues his life-long goal of getting his PhD. Even if it means holding off on TTC #2 until Aug 2013 (instead of Aug 2012) because I will basically be home alone with Landon the first year or two of DH's coursework.

  • 1) Continue to eat healthy and stay active

    2) Make more time for DH and I

    3) Be successful in my new job! I have never been more nervous to start a job before..its both good and bad nerves.

    2) Purge clothes/items etc. I really want to get organized and get rid of so much to make room.

  • I really want to get our house in order. It needs a lot of work. We've been here almost 2 years and still haven't even painted most of the rooms! I would also love to start saving more. Everytime we start to get ahead with a good cushion in savings, something comes up and we need to use it.
Finally a Mrs as of June 7, 2008

  • I would just like to continue my ones from last year.

    1. Get in a good workout routine (I've even added in 2 more workout days a week by going on my lunch break, woot!)

    2. Continue to travel. We normally don't travel that much but this year we went on a few weekend trips (including Indy!), flew to Orlando, and went on a cruise to the Bahamas. Hopefully we keep it up next year.

    Happiest place on Earth!

  • NYR don't really work for me either. However, I do want to be more active. I'm not much of an exerciser at all. I am not overweight so it's more of healthy heart thing for me. And since I'm still not pregnant, it would probably be a good idea to get into a routine now, in hopes of keeping it up during a pregnancy.
  • I have a couple goals for the year that I've been tossing around for the past couple weeks:

Fitness related - run 5 half marathons, learn to ride my bike with clip-in shoes, and complete a century bike race (100 miles) with DH.

Personal - same one as last year: lose 10 lbs. This is my year! Take our trip to Hawaii, start saving towards our trip to Italy (summer of 2014).

Career related - continue to learn the bidding process and start bidding jobs on my own, hopefully earn a promotion to production supervisor.
