Anyone have a good chili recipe?
I want to make it soon but realized I don't have a good recipe. Anyone have one that they want to share?
Re: Anyone have a good chili recipe?
This is my family's favorite chili recipe. I make this very mild b/c I don't like spicy food, but you can definitely doctor this up to your preferred spice level. I have also made this on the stove, not in a crock pot. I didn't cook it nearly as long, but it still tastes good (the longer you cook it though, the better it tastes!).
1.5 - 2lbs ground chuck
1 pkg chili seasoning mix
1 large onion, chopped
3 cans (16oz each) chili beans with chili gravy
1 can (16 oz) whole tomatoes, mashed
1 can (16 oz) red kidney beans, drained (optional)
1-3 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (optional)
In skillet brown ground chuck, drain off fat. Add meat with remaining ingredients except jalapeno peppers to crock pot, stir well.
Cover and cook on Low setting for 8-10 hours (on High for 2.5 - 4 hours)
Before serving, stir in chopped peppers if hotter flavor is desired.
My Blog
We make this too with no substitutions. It's yummy and simple. I've even had friends at work request that I make it and bring it for all of us
