Weekly Book Post- the last of 2011
So what are you reading?
Anyone making any goals for reading for 2012?
Re: Weekly Book Post- the last of 2011
I am reading Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. I am not liking it as much as some of her others so far.
I am going to try to read 75 books next year. I reached that this year, but there are a bunch of longer books that I avoided that I would like to read in 2012.
I have Just Listen in my classroom library, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I look forward to your final thoughts on it.
I am reading Knit the Season by Kate Jacobs. The Friday Night Knitting Club books are two of my all time favorites. I think Knit the Season came out last year around Christmas time. I don't know how I missed it. But it works out okay because I was able to get the hard cover for only $5.95. I'm only a chapter in, and I love it already. This series is one where you wish you knew the characters in real life because they are such awesome people.

I am a gluten-free, gun-toting wife! :P
I love you, Daddy...2/24/1953 to 2/13/2011
So glad that you are enjoying reading again! The Hunger Games was amazing! Enjoy it. The first book was my favorite!
Ohhh I loved the Hunger Games! Be prepared to need the next book right after finishing the first one!
I'm still halfway through The Marriage Plot. Can't find a good time to read lately because of all the holiday craziness. As for a goal for next year, I'm thinking I'll try 50, but only because I have job applications and possibly a first-year teaching job to think about. I wonder if I'll remember to keep track? hehe...
my read shelf:
I got 11/22/63 for Christmas from my SIL. (It's a Stephen King novel about the JFK assassination....I'm OBSESSED with Kennedy - like disgustingly so - so I had to read it!) I started it Tuesday and am already like 300 pages in. (If you know SK, it's like 850 pages.)
LOVE it so far. Hoping to finish before school starts again Monday, but I dunno if I'll make it or not.
I just read the first Hunger Games book this week! Downloaded it on my Fire on Christmas, finished it on the 26th. Before I can start the second book I need to read Sue Grafton's V book and the latest Evanovich Stephanie Plum book as those two books are due back on the 3rd.
I want to set a goal of either 75 or 100 books for the upcoming year. There's approx 25-30 on my reading list for spring semester, and I know I'll have reading time this summer. I'm just not sure how much reading time I'll have while teaching full time in the spring or fall!
I love my nook! My mom got me the simple touch, and just finished "The Help. " I am not sure what is next. I need to figure out how to do the library thing, too.
