Does more sex make it less painful?
I'm a newlywed (day 12) and we were both technically virgins when we married, though we had experimented using hands and mouths beforehand. Since the wedding we have had sex every day to every other day, so probably about 8 times now. Though I must admit the first time went more smoothly than I expected, there was pain upon entry and for the first couple of minutes. This pattern has continued every time since.
We typically spend awhile on foreplay and always use lots of lubrication, so I'm wondering, is this something that should get better with time and practice? I haven't been avoiding it because I know that will just make the problem worse, and I do enjoy it after the first few minutes of pain. My gynecologist has told me that I have a flexible hymen, but maybe it's just not flexible enough yet? Anybody else experience this? How long did it last? Will doing it every day help get things "in shape" faster?

Get another opinion. You may have an intact hymen or some other issue that needs attention.
When I first started having sex, I was having it quite a bit. I won't lie - it hurt. The pain lessened over about two weeks (I'm not totally sure how long, though - this was about ten years ago).
In general, as you do it more, the better it will feel. Don't force yourself to do it every day if you hurt. It's okay to take a day off!
I'm guessing he hasn't broken your hymen. I would try some alcohol and a vibrator.

I was a virgin when I got married too. It took awhile for me to have sex with my husband because I was so scared. We worked our way up to his member by using smaller cylindrical items first. yes more sex and time will help however if you are irritating the tissue too much you may want to give yourself a break for a few days to recover. perhaps you could try pausing for a minuet after he enters you to allow everything to adjust before getting going or as the PP suggested getting a little tipsy, smoking a little weed (if your so inclined though i am assuming that you are not) or stimulating your clitoris with a vibrator before penetration could really help. i know day 12 may be a little early to venture away from missionary (i know it took me months to get comfortable on top) but being on top will not only allow you greater control over what feels good and what doesn't but the position allows your clitoris to rub against his pubic bone which allows you to control your own orgasm just remember being on top is a back and forth grinding motion NOT a up and down posting motion
