OMG. Stomach virus. Or something else awful at 36 weeks pg.

I felt a little off early today.  Then I felt way off.  I kind of attributed it to the fact that I had a few bites of DH's bean burrito from Taco Bell last night (normally I don't eat Taco Bell).  But then, toward the end of the day, I started feeling faint and woozy, and had a stomachache - I'm thinking it's not contractions, but what do I know.  I laid down as soon as we got home from work, and took a bath.  Ended up with chills, but no temperature.

I have an OB appointment tomorrow at 10, so I am hoping to hold on without heading to the ER, because it doesn't really seem like there's a reason to go there.  But man, am I miserable.  :(

  • I hope you feel better soon.  Several folks have posted about a stomach virus.  Make sure you take extra care of yourself.

There is something going around (the whole country, not just Colorado).  I had it while we were in Hawaii a few weeks ago as did DH and we were extremely miserable.  You probably just caught that.

  • Thanks, ladies.  That wouldn't surprise me.  Although it's totally terrible.  Like unspeakably terrible.  ;)  I'm supposed to be at work tomorrow because I am the only one covering, but I really am questioning how I'm supposed to do it, because right now I need to be within throwing distance of my own bathroom.  Gah.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this but yeah, that sounds like it.  I stayed in my hotel room in Hawaii for 2 days because I needed to be by the bathroom.  I was also shaking each night and had to stand in the shower for long periods of time to make it stop.  It's a bad one...but at least it's a virus.  The worst part of it only lasts for 2 days then you'll just be nauseous for a few more days and good as new after about a week.    Good Luck  Sad

  • Thanks ladies - I ended up going in to the hospital last night because I was in so much pain.  Apparently I was so dehydrated from the stomach virus it was kicking me into having contractions.  Gah.  After 5 hours at St. Joe's, multiple rounds of throwing up, IV fluids, and with my zofran in hand, I'm feeling a little more human, but I called in to work today.  My OB made me.  ;)

Well I'm sorry you're sick but good for your OB to keep you off work! You need to focus on getting better!!

  • Yikes! I hope you feel MUCH better today.
  • Late to this post, but hope you feel better soon and that the little one bakes a little longer.
