What is on the agenda for today?
QOTD: Do you believe in karma?
I couldnt really sleep last night. I am having trouble getting used to the time change. I have to go to the supermarket and make an apple pie and chocolate cupcakes for tomorrow.
QOTD: I do because I hope that if you are good and nice that you will get rewarded in the future.
Re: Good Morning
We're off to Bilbao to pick up my identity card and then to sign on to Social Security and then get a health card. Oh boy, bureaucracy! Here's hoping it goes well. After that, I'm not sure. We'll be at the IL's house until the 1st. I love NYE with MIL's family, but my goal is to not get as ridiculously tipsy as last year - that hurt.
QOTD: Yes
Friday was relatively quiet round these parts. I had a lovely breeze all day so I could open all the windows and air out the house. Having finished my book last night, I read two and a quarter novellas. I introduced DH to pancakes with maple syrup (real maple syrup, not the pancake syrup or maple-flavored ice cream topping).
Saturday we are planning a run to the grocery for New Year's Day Black-Eyed Peas and Cabbage, and a visit to a friend in the hospital.
QOTD: I believe that you get what you give, and that the powers that be look favorably on good people doing good things, but not in karma as such.
Good morning!
I have no plans today except to go to the gym.
I'm going home in 5 days!
QOTD: I believe that you get what you give like the PP.
Hopefully another quiet day at the office. Meeting up with some friends for an early pre-theatre dinner, and then we're going to see Billy Elliot. We tried to go see it about two years ago, and even bought the tickets. But then we forgot the date, and by the time we remembered, the date had already passed
. Hopefully we have better luck tonight and we actually get to see it!
QOTD: I'd like to believe, but I have my doubts.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
I am going to finish my tea and then attempt to get up and get moving! I need to do a lot of ironing before this evening, so I might put on It's a Wonderful Life or Love Actually and start ironing!
QOTD: Do we mean the idea that you reap what you sow or get what's coming to you? I do believe in some of that, but only to an extent.
Today no plans...I have laundry to do and DH are going out to dinner tonight.
QOTD: Yes, I do believe in karma.
good morning!
Today... well, I slept in! I love vacation! DH took Georgia out this morning and I got to sleep... ah....
We had some friends over for dinner last night and they were here way too long. I think they left sometime around midnight. So, today we will be cleaning up and maybe doing a little shopping, and just relaxing! We probably should put our Christmas tree away.
QOTD: nope. I believe in God, so I think he judges/rewards people, but not karma.
Hi. Last night was not good for DD I don't know if it was a minor stomach bug or just the stress of the time change, but last night in the middle of the night she threw up almost her entire bottle and (tmi alert) continued to dry heave on and off the rest of the night. Thankfully it didn't seem to bother her too much, but I hardly got any sleep. Now we're debating about whether to go to the ILs tomorrow or postpone until next weekend.
QOTD: I believe that in the end God judges everyone. ;-) So in the long run I guess you can call that a kind of karma, but I don't believe that you necessarily reap what you sow in this life. Although Germans have a great saying, "God punishes the little sins right away" which they use when, for example, you're making fun of someone, looking their way, and step in a puddle or run into a post or something.
Well, it's not morning here anymore, but oh well.
The office is dead. I think there are only about 5 people (out of 100+) in today. No big plans for the day, but I'm thinking I might go for sushi after work. Alone with a good book. I'm loving Ready Player One; I'm such a geek.
QOTD: Not really. I think it's a cognitive bias.
I got to sleep in a bit! Have to say that helps make up for the waking up for feedings. There were some errands to be run and DH is homebound today (had a minor procedure yesterday). I took BabyD so we could have some time together. He really enjoyed it and seems happier this afternoon. Now some down time, prepping for tomorrow, and maybe figuring out something fun to do tomorrow. Will depend on if DH can go out or not. If we stay in then we'll have family time making chocolate chip cookies.
QOTD: I believe that one way or another people are held accountable for the good and the bad.
Good morning--even though it's much later for everyone else
We're having dinner with friends tonight (I think next week we finally have a "free day"... for the first time in about 3 weeks) and we started housesitting yesterday--so I've got a sweet cat curled up beside me and am enjoying a new perspective.
QOTD: I refer to karma often, even though I don't know how much I believe in it... I would like to think that someone/something will make things right either sooner or later, but having studied things like structural injustices, I know that sometimes people/segments of society just get stuck with the short end of the stick, through no fault of their own and without means to correct it without major structural changes that they cannot implement alone.
