What's cookin' for NYE?

I'm going over to a friend's house for NYE tomorrow.  I can't decide what to make for an appetizer or dessert.  I'm thinking possibly potato skins and then maybe looking through my cookbooks to see what I haven't baked in a while.

So, if you're hosting or going to someone's house, what are you making?  I need some inspiration!  Smile  Thanks!

  • Haha... I juuust got this link in an email...

Lindsay sent me a link to these lasagna bites that look good:

These look easy... little pizza bites... maybe a small dollop of spaghetti sauce: Pinned Image

Spinach/Artichoke dip is good... seven layer dip, I love just some plain chunky salsa over cream cheese with tortilla chips too. I want to try mini quiches. Like getting a muffin pan and putting small pie dough, filled with scrambled egg, spinach, broccoli, ham maybe... I am not cooking either but have a lot of ideas. :)

Do you have a fryer? If so, try fried zucchini... slice zucchini, dip it in egg and buttermilk, then in seasoned panko crumbs... sooo yummy.

Ohhh, my bruschetta is super easy and yummy. Get some loaf bread, like french or ciabatta... slice it on an angle, brush olive oil on both sides. Cut a garlic clove in half and rub the fresh garlic directly onto the bread. Top with a mixture of diced tomatoes, shredded mozerella and italian seasoning... yummy... if you want extra cheesy, top with a bit more cheese on the top... super yummy.

  • PICKLE DIP AND CHIPS!!!  Omg I LOVE pickle dip and it has been a hit at every occasion we have it!  It's super easy:

2 bars of cream cheese (do NOT get reduced fat, it doesn't taste the same in this lol)

    4-5 dill pickles chopped up

Pickle juice (the more your add, the thinner the dip gets, so it's your own preference)

Mix it all together and VOILA! lol sooo yummy!  I prefer to have it with Cape Cod chips, if stores near you sell them! :)

  • Slutty Brownies -- I'm dying to make these.

On my mom's computer and can't make it clicky..sorry.

ETA: We have no plans. The grandparents all are cooler than us and have plans so no babysitter if we wanted to. We have a giftcard for an awesome Italian place, but my gall bladder hates me so that is probably not a wise idea.
