Re: Five things Friday
1. I rediscovered my watering boots. Now, instead of having wet feet, I have sweaty feet. Ya win some, ya lose some.
2. DH and I have decided to go to Disney World in February. He just needs to double check that he has 5 days vacation time, and I just need to OK it with work.
3. I have never been to Disney World. I'm kind of excited and terrified.
4. I brought a lot of chocolate with me to work today...
5. I need to work out.
1) I have had little desire or motivation these last few days to do anything.
2) I want to go somewhere fun for my 2 year anniversary (I feel like I have said this one on a past post hmm)
3) I want fried chicken really bad right now.
4) My mom got me gift cards for Olgas as a Christmas gift and I am more excited about it than I should be.
5) I have no plans for NYE and I have no idea what to do.
I love Disney! You will have a great time I'm sure.
1. DH trying to convince me it is time for me to get a new car. I'm still driving the one I got when I was 16.
2. #1 has me extremely anxious and I just want to stick my fingers in my ears and go "LALALALALA I can't hear you" whenever we discuss it which is super mature of me.
3. Not only do I not want to spend the money (I'm a tightwad) but the process of deciding on a car is so totally overwhelming. I want something larger than I have now (sub compact) but I don't feel comfortable driving something larger. Do I go new vs. used? How much will I get for my trade in?
4. I think I would survive extremely well in a communist society where all my decisions are made for me.
5. I'm only half joking about #4.
1. DD and I had a stay in our pjs all day yesterday, it was so nice!
2. I was not nearly as productive as I should have been, but I'm still getting over a sinus infection and am not feeling 100%.
3. I usually take down our tree around New Years, but I might actually leave it up another week or two.
4. I brought a frozen meal spicy dish for lunch, but I'm thinking I don't really want it. I need to stop going out so much on lunch, it gets so expensive!
5. So glad today is Friday & another 3 day weekend :-)
My mom and I went in August, and it was one of the best vacations I've ever been on. You'll have a blast!
1. I am going to Great Lakes Crossing today!
2. I don't really have much money left in my "fun money" category for the month, but I'm looking forward to spending time with my mom and sister.
3. I wish we would have already headed out, but they are still in Toledo getting ready to go. I like to head out bright and early!
4. I tried a new cereal called Krave this morning, and it's really gross. I"m not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of the box... hopefully DH likes it.
5. Um, what to put for #5? ...I've been carrying the same purse for more than a year. It's probably time to buy a new one. Hopefully I can find something cute today!
I'm in the same boat! GL!
You too! And have fun at Disney! Why are you terrified?
I hate spending money. We've been making a TON of progress on our savings goals (house in 2 years, car and (hopefully) a baby this year), and it always makes me nervous to spend when we could save. BUT, we really can afford it, so we'll be fine. Also, scheduling vacations makes me super anxious because I'm always worried that we'll miss our flight or because we scheduled it online something won't be right or we'll lose the paper work. Just stupid stuff like that.
So glad to hear I'm not the only one that is like this
I loved it when I got my first post-college/law school vehicle. I'll help.
Get something bigger, you'll get used to it, and you'll need it (kids/house reno stuff/pets, etc.) Most of the newer SUV are on car frames anyway (like the Edge, etc.), so they feel like driving a car more than a truck. I wouldn't go brand new just because of the huge amount of depreciation amount as soon as you drive that puppy off the lot. Buy a car that was a lease turn it. That's what I did, and couldn't be happier. My Trail Blazer was only a couple years old when I got it, so it still looked new. Buy it with an extended warranty for peace of mind. And, if you are driving the same car you've had since you were 16, you'll probably get jack diddly squat for a trade in. Just accept it and move on. lol Good luck!
Oooooohhh!!! I'm excited for you!!! If you need any help planning or tips on things to do, let me know. I've been there about a dozen times and consider myself a bit of an expert.
I'm actually going to take you up on this! I've been pricing it out, and it looks like we can do Disney for $2500 ish for 4 days and Universal for 3 days at $900. This includes flights, hotel, tickets, and dining plan. Is this a resonable price? Too high? I want to not spend a million dollars, but I also don't want to skimp. Thoughts?
Personally, that seems kinda' high to me. Although a lot of that price depends on what time of year you're going in terms of what season it is in Disney's eyes. Example, we always go during their value season. I'm going to find all the links that I've used in the past and send them to you. I usually get my "me time" after the girls go to bed at night, so I'll shoot you an email later tonight with all the "goodies" in it. lol
Thank you thank you thank you!!
1. I'm meeting up with an old friend from high school today, I'm looking forward to it.
2. We had a B1G1free coupon for Qdoba and went there for lunch. Yum!
3. Now the food coma is setting in due to #2.
4. DH is off work today, and it's weird having him home while I'm working.
5. I can't believe tomorrow is New Year's Eve. I know people say this every year, but seriously, where did the year go? Especially December. I swear, last week was Thanksgiving!
1. Even though it's Friday, it doesn't feel like it to me.
2. I have no idea what day it feels like.
3. I hate this dreary weather, at least if snow was on the ground it would look pretty.
4. I can't believe 2011 is almost done, this month flew by.
5. Wish there was a potion to teach patience to a 3 yr old!
