New Year's poll
I was just wondering what every one is doing for New Year's Eve. It looks like many of us are anxious to get 2011 out the door, and welcome 2012. So, what are we all doing?!

What do you normally eat/make on NYE? At the very least I pull together an awesome cheese splay and a cake. This year I'm going overboard.
Any New Year traditions? For 12 of the last 14 NYEs, I've celebrated it with my BFF. Other than that, none.
What was your most memorable midnight kiss? Sadly, I only remember one. I was 16, and dating some guy. We were at his grandmother's house, and we were watching Alien. Totally terrible. At 12:30 we went outside for a cigarette. It started snowing, and he said "oh $h!t. Happy new year" and gave me a kiss. I don't even remember my first kiss with J!
Doing anything on New Year's Day? Meeting my parents somewhere in the city for an early dinner, if we aren't too hungover!
Any resolutions? I intend to continue to better myself. It's the same every day, if not every year

Doing anything on New Year's Day? For the past 4 years or so my family always has our family Christmas on New Year's Day, so that's where I'll be.
Any resolutions? I really want to make an effort to lose weight. I'm not looking forward to being the fat sister in my sister's wedding in June.My Profile
What do you normally eat/make on NYE? Chili usually so we can eat it for the football games, but this year we're just bringing pigs in a blanket
Any New Year traditions? We've spent the last 5-6 NYE's with one set of friends (along with other people) and this is the first year we aren't with them. Sucks.
What was your most memorable midnight kiss? NYE 2000. We had a HUGE party at a friend's (we were seniors in high school). Some random dude named Tweeter (not his real name) grabbed me and kissed me and someone took a picture. It looked like we were madly in love. It was pretty entertaining. Then later that night I drunkenly kissed this guy Jonathan that I'd kissed before, but it was amazing. I remember thinking that if I'd had sex before I so would have done him. LOL.
Doing anything on New Year's Day? Nope. Maybe going to the mall while H watches football. Probably doing something similar on Jan 2nd since we're off work too.
Any resolutions? I suck at resolutions. I don't even try to keep them so I don't make them.
Are you going to a party, laying low, or throwing the party? things are kind of up in the air, depending on what my h wants to do. he was closer to our kitty who passed, so i'm taking his lead. we may go to a party tonight depending. tomorrow night we may go out to dinner with the IL's and his aunt who is in town. for me, new year's day is more important. i like doing something spiritual so i will be taking a two hour yoga class.

What was your most memorable midnight kiss? once i kissed this guy at a party right before new year's. it was the classic meet at 11:50 and then kiss and then promptly seperate. right after we kissed i went upstairs and threw up all over the hosts' bed. jaeger and beer are not a great combo i found.
Doing anything on New Year's Day? yoga, that's it. i'd like to start doing a new year's day open house type thing. maybe next year.
Any resolutions? i try to do more of a reflection and looking ahead/thinking about what i want for the new year, rather than a resolution.

Doing anything on New Year's Day? Nothing planned. I am hoping to have a baby then, but that is my hope for pretty much every day anymore.

Maybe get dinner with friends and who knows. At this point, we have nothing planned and I'm soooo fine with that.

This made me laugh. I remember being in the bar so many times at new years. Around 11:45 you see people shift around and stand near certain people. I SO did that! If I could stand going to a bar at New Year's I'd still like to go and watch the "midnight shuffle".
Are you going to a party, laying low, or throwing the party? We are laying low. I really don't feel like going out and dealing with crowds or coming home after everyone's been drinking.
What do you normally eat/make on NYE? We usually just go out to eat before we go out.

What was your most memorable midnight kiss? I remember my first New Year's after I started dating my H. Really that is the only midnight kiss I can remember. I was so infatuated w/ him.
Doing anything on New Year's Day? Hopefully taking all of my Christmas decorations down and seeing friends for dinner.
Any resolutions? I hope to be more organized next year.

Are you going to a party, laying low, or throwing the party? I worked until 8 and then went home and relaxed at home with H. We watched a little tv and went to bed (we did kiss at midnight though). We're so boring. lol.
What do you normally eat/make on NYE? Just whatever we feel like eating....nothing special.
Any New Year traditions? Nope.
What was your most memorable midnight kiss? One was with an ex in 2002/2003....we were driving back to his house and at midnight we pulled over and ran out into the middle of the road (it was on a back road...so no cars around, just us) to share our first kiss of the new year. The other was with H in 2007/2008...we were at my brothers house and all the couples kissed at the same time....nothing "unique"....but I got that giddy feeling....and so it was definitely special.
Doing anything on New Year's Day? We went to see the UNC tarheels basketball team whoop some bootay! lol.

Any resolutions? I am at my heaviest weight I've ever been.
