I told TH's cousin, I would pass on some suggestions for reception sites. She is having 200 people and is looking for a resonable priced site. I think I have all the standards found on ExperienceGR.com, however are there any "off-the beaten" path sites you can think of or hidden jewels?
Re: Wedding Reception sites
Has she checked out the Goei Center owned by Eastern Floral? Its amazing and very reasonably priced as I hear. http://www.easternfloral.com/thegoeicenter.asp
In September we went to a wedding at Watermark and it was beautiful. I don't think its that expensive, either. Last February we went to a wedding at The Grand Volute in Lowell. VERY reasonable and quite nice, actually. My co-worker was looking at the Cultural Center last year, which looked really nice. Those are the only places I know of that may not be super well-known. I'm wishing her the best of luck!
What town/city are they thinking about?
Metro GR- pretty much 1/2 hour driving range. She would be willing to go a bit more if she can have the cermony and reception in one area.
I don't know what was listed on the GR site as I didn't look - sorry if these are repeats, or too expensive.
I don't know how it is now, but when I got married (five years ago this July), at Aquinas, and it was very nice, good food, great service, and a beautiful setting for pictures. I know their ballroom holds up to 250 people and is a nice place. Not sure on cost, as it probably has gone up a bit since I was there.
If looking for an outdoor/barn venture I have heard that Post Family farms does a nice job.
My cousin's wedding was at the WMU banquet center downtown. Don't know price, but it was a nice reception.
