FFFC/AW/UO/Vents/etc.

We skipped UO Thursday, so just combine all your random thoughts into this post!

I saw at least a dozen women this past week out shopping or at the airport wearing leggings as pants. Only one of them *maybe* had a chance of pulling it off. Most of them did not have the body type for it, including the one proudly displaying her muffin top wedged between leggings and a too-tight shirt. A man walking behind me even snorted and shook his head over that one.

My (hopefully not) UO: Leggings are NOT pants.  I don't care how skinny the woman is, they don't look good on anybody worn like that. Worn under a dress or a skirt they look great. I might even accept a long shirt that at least covers your butt. But as pants? Never. I don't want to see every lump in your legs, the outline of your butt crack, and the ever-so-flattering camel toe as they ride up in the crotch. Go home and put some real pants on.

  • FFFC:

I have been reading about this new diet (paleo) we are starting with our gym. Everyday listening to podcasts, reading blogs, recipes, books, etc. Learning how beneficial this will be for our overall health and not just to lose weight. Meanwhile, I have been eating like total crap. I had pizza for dinner last night and Starbucks on my way to the office this morning. My body is going to SERIOUSLY detox when we start paleo on Monday.

Also, we have 2 shower heads in our master shower. I use them both when I shower alone. It wastes so much water but I don't care because it feels soooo gooooood.

Annnnd, I offered H a BJ this week to do a chore I didn't want to do.

I bet it doesn't waste as much water as a bath does, though. I just can't make myself give up baths, and those waste a ton of water. I've gotten it down to every other day, but I really ought to do less than that. In fact, let's go ahead and make that my FFFC, shall we?

Another FFFC: I've already spent my Christmas money. I don't know WHAT my problem is, but I cannot seem to hang onto to my fun money to save my life.

  • I am getting in bad eating and drinking before I detox off of alcohol, sugar, and wheat products starting Sunday. It's mostly to stop a skin problem I have that is triggered by at least one of those things. I can't go to my annual doctor visit up 10 pounds from where I was last year so this is my plan to get my azz in gear. So, I'm a little hungover this morning. I'll be fine by lunch, but it's been awhile since I've had a hangover and now I remember why I hate them. I think it's worse because I mixed my drink with soda and the sugar just makes it so much worse!

    Leggings are not pants.

I'll just THIS your confessions. Sub the diet portion of NROLFW, which I still haven't gotten past to get to the actual workouts. I dont want to commit to the diet changes so I keep putting off reading.

I don't have dual showerheads yet, but we're definitely getting them in the new house and I'm 100% sure I will use both at least sometimes.

  • I wear leggings as pants and pull it off. ;) I don't wear cheap thin leggings, though. They are thicker material and I wear long shirts or sweaters over them.

Wendy, the only diet change I did with NROLFW was the addition of protien shakes. I eat the same way I did before. Granted, that was already pretty healthy.
  • Meh. I've been known to rock the leggings as pants. That is until I realized they aren't thick enough and you can see through them if I bend over or in the sun. If they were thicker I would still be wearing them. They don't give a cameltoe or muffintop if they fit right... Also I'd say I have some skinny jeans that are just as tight.

FFFC: I bought the movie Tangled for my boys for Christmas strictly because I like it. They like it too. I'm fine with my boys watching a princess movie so I don't have to watch cars or toy story every single day.

Another FFFC: I miss the way my life was when I was married. I'm stressed all the time now and busy working and I miss the simplicity that my life used to have. Also, I'm over dating. I honestly wonder if there is anyone that I would be comfortable having around my kids and that would want them as much as me.

I bought tangled for Connor too.

As for the rest,  I just have to say hang in there. I felt this way too, but it turns out I was completely wrong. My life is so so SO much better than it was a few years ago.

You can totally rock leggings for pants.

And... ((hugs)) there is a guy out there who will be crazy in love with you and your boys.

  • I'm about to go buy a new Dyson.  I'm not calling H to discuss. Just gonna drop some money because I feel like it.  I also am not in the mood to save right now and H is the exact opposite...tight wad mode.  Eff it!

I have been listening to hip hop all morning with B.  (I'm cleaning house and he's in and out of the backyard). He knows most of the songs.  This Doesn't bother me, but I have a feeling that a 3 year old singing this probably doesn't fall under great parenting.  He dances like a pro too. Ha.

I think long shirts with leggings are acceptable, particularly with leggings made of thicker material. I just hate seeing short shirts and thin tights-like material outlining every inch of the butt and thighs.

Ditto this. I try to get more protein than I had previously been eating, but other than that I'm not counting calories or making any other changes to my diet. I may not be seeing the same results I would if I was following their nutrition plan, but I'm happy with where I am.

  • I've been eating like sh!t since I went on Christmas break, and my body hates me for it. I can't keep eating this way and train for my first 5K, so new diet/eating plans are currently being researched. I have to make a change in 2012 - I'm over the weight loss/gain see-saw I was on in 2011.

I've had more sexy time the past seven days than I have the entire year. I'm so, so glad H is home for a couple more days.

I love being on vacation, but I hate that our schedules are so jacked up right now. I can't wait to get back to Stillwater and back to our regular routine - hadn't realized how much I miss routine until I got off of it for a few days.

I'm considering getting some zumba DVDs for kids [if they exist]. JJ and I did zumba the other night, and he really enjoyed the music and the dancing. I'm thinking that might be a good way to keep us moving on days I don't run and if we ever get snowed in this winter [like we have the past two winters].

  • FFFC: I've been reading the Hunger Games pretty much all day instead of working. My boss is gone so I don't have a whole lot to do and this book is just way too addicting. I'm on the last chapter now and I plan to buy the second book on my Kindle and start it as soon as I finish this chapter.

FFFC 2: We had a little pregnancy scare a couple weeks ago. When I took the test and it was negative, I was soooo disappointed and I think H was too. It wouldn't be very good timing since I'm finishing up my last year of school, but I want a baby.

AW/Vent/FFFC: (AW) I bought new running shoes and I ran 3 miles in them the Wednesday! It felt SO good to run again. And it wasn't even very hard, I was afraid I would lose some endurance on my break. (Vent) But...my foot hurt a little bit while running. And it was kind of sore the day after. I'm SO mad. But it wasn't really that bad. (FFFC) I only have about 4 weeks until the half marathon. I think I'm going to just suck it up and keep running. The pain isn't unbearable, just annoying. If it gets to be too much, I'll probably go to the sports medicine doc I know. But until then, I'm just going to keep running.

  • I have been eating like sh!t and am happy about it.

I woke up at noon today. And it wasn't a I woke up at 8, decided to go back to sleep, woke up at 9, decided to go back to sleep, woke up at 10, decided to go back to sleep, it was a HARD CORE went to bed at 10 last night and woke up at noon. DH got home from work and was like WTF?  I am cleaning (nesting) now so I don't feel so guilty. But it was awesome. And I feel so refreshed.

Dasher puked on our living room rug. Like, massive puke everywhere when DH was here for lunch.  I really did try to clean it but I am sticking to our 2012 plan of not spending any money on our house but the rug is ruined.  DH said "Well, I guess we will be buying a rug."  I protested, but not too much because I already have my eye on one. Stick out tongue

DH and his friends signed us up for the relay for the Memorial Marathon and he is so pumped up. I can't run worth sh!t. Last night I suggested we get off our butts and go outside to do something (like run) and he was like "oh, no, I am so tired."  We'll see how long this Memorial Marathan phase lasts.

This is what I've been doing since Wednesday night. I started HG Wednesday night and finished it yesterday morning, then yesterday afternoon I had to buy #2 on my Nook. I'm already to the 3rd part. These books are so completely disturbing and it is so strange how it affects me. Yet, in the same breath, they're amazing books. Reading them is seriously messing with my sleep schedule... I can't stop reading them and when I finally find a stopping place, I can't sleep because I'm scared to death someone is going to send a spear through my chest. Disturbing.

My house is a wreck and I need to clean, but I can't stop reading.

I just finished the first book! I'm not sure if I'll be able to handle the movies. There's so much violence and they kill a lot of animals (which is hard for me to watch, even though it's not real.) I'm the same way as you, DH was gone yesterday evening and I was kind of freaked out the whole time. Like carrying in the groceries while it was dark. I think it's because of the books.

Girl, I get a little weepy when I drop Dasher off just for the night. Nothing wrong with being sad about leaving your children!

  • Since I'm going to e around here often I figure I might as well make it official: I'm getting a divorce. No details but let's just say people aren't always who they tell you they are. FFFC: I am relieved. Heartbroken, devastated and forever changed but relieved. Isn't that bad?

Nope.  Relieved is exactly how I felt when my ex-husband moved out.  A good friend told me when I was in the worst times of it to remember that even though it was completely all consuming right then and felt like the end of the world that I would look back on it later and it wouldn't seem so bad.  She was right.  I hope the same is true for you.

PM me if you want to talk more sometime about doing the whole single mom thing (via a run if you'd like). There are a few of us around here now.
