Hunger Games
What is this book (miniseries?)? Several of you have posted about it, but I haven't heard of it outside the Nest. Who's it by? What's it about? What makes it so good?

It's set in the future. The country (no longer known as the US) is split into 12 districts. There are people that are in charge. Some people tried to rebel against the people on charge so they created the Hunger Games as punishment and as a reminder not to rebel. Each year, one boy and one girl between 12-18 years old from each district are sent to a special location and they're left there to fight until there is only one person left.
You should read them. They are so hard to put down! They're by Suzanne Collins. She ends the chapters to where you want to keep reading, so it feels like there aren't any good stopping places.

Kaylee gave a pretty good summary. I just read them b/c I was bored over Thanksgiving and had read most of my "to read" list, and was tired of hearing everyone rave about them.
Based on the summary, I totally didn't think I'd like them because I'm just not into that style of book. But I loved them! I'm excited to see the movie now when it comes out.
I just read Divergent based off a couple of recs here, and I'm so glad I did. Never pegged myself as the young adult fiction type.
