Denmark

Other than Copenhagen, what's there to see in Denmark?  How long would you say is a good amount of time to spend there?

We're planning to take my baby brother on a trip when he graduates HS in June.  We're thinking 3 days in Amsterdam, 4 days in London and 8-9 in Denmark.

Re: Denmark

  • Sweden is very close to Copenhagen. Malmo is about 30-45 minute train ride if memory serves me correctly. It was fun day trip to go to Malmo and Lund. I also heard that there is a neat town right on the northern coast (sorry, I don't remember the name). I went to Copenhagen for 5 days and had a good time. Why not spend a longer time in London and less time in Denmark?

  • Why such a long amount of time in Denmark? I would switch it around and do 8-9 in London (and other parts of the UK) and 4 in Denmark.

Hm, I guess I just assumed that London would make a good place to stop over for a few days on future Europe trips, so I didn't feel the need to stay too long.  I also wasn't sure if we'd get bored in London after a few days.

Maybe 9 days is too much to spend in Denmark.  I really wasn't sure.  I thought there might be more to do/see outside of Copenhagen that would warrant spending more time.  Maybe we'll try Sweden, or maybe we'll add more time to other places.

  • Definitely do more days in London.  You will not get bored and if you have a bit of extra time, you can do some side trips outside of the city.  Of the cities you listed, Copenhagen is probably the most expensive, so, that's something to consider.
