Does this sound right? Ance face cream

I picked up Ziana for my acne. RX so it was 12 dollar for me. I got an EOB with the submitted amount being 479.22. What??? How do people afford this without insurance? It was one tube of gel but the qty on EOB says 5/60.00. I just want to make sure Walmart isn't ripping off Tricare!

  • Is that how much they billed Tricare? Or how much Tricare actually paid? I've noticed that there can sometimes be a considerable difference. I don't believe that Tricare allows themselves to be terribly overcharged for no reason.

  • Tricare paid 396. So 408 must be the billable amount.

  • That makes sense. My 5mL bottle of Pataday Allergy drops is $120 without insurance. 5mL Indifferent

  • Given that people will pay $80 an oz for something from a makeup counter, it doesn't even seem all that insane.  It's an antibiotic and retin derivative.

You have to give it more than a couple days to work.  IIRC, when I've gone on rx creams, it can take at least a couple weeks to start even noticing a difference and even longer to be close to acne-free.

it's been two months. And she added another cream at my last appointment that I haven't started yet AND I'm on Yaz to help. It's these stupid brown spots that the acne leaves behind that is my biggest problem.

Yaz made my acne the worst it had EVER been in my life. It was horrendous while I was on Yaz. Can you switch BCs?

My gyno told me it would help. And I can't tell a difference between it and when I was on the nuvaring. Idk. What the actual cause of my acne is my thyroid levels are low and hopefully when I get on medication next month, it will help.

  • I use dermalogica. It is awesome. I will look into switching bcp because there is that possible side effect.
