Why I hate quilt shops

They are turning me into a fabric snob! I went today to my LQS and, as usual, there were a katrillion fabrics I wanted. Why, oh why do they have to be $10 a yard? Then I went to Hancocks and, well, I was too snobby to like the cheap stuff. Oh noooo, I couldn't find a nice $5 yd substitute...not after finding one I loved at the expensive store.

I turned DH into a fabric snob by making him feel how nice the fabrics felt at the quilt shop where I got my machine serviced. He actually commented on JoAnns having fabric for the same price that just didn't look or feel as nice as the stuff at the quilt shop.
Oh, I am a HUGE quilt shop fabric snob! And I cannot afford to be one. lol It is just worth it to me to make a quilt out of high quality fabric that will wash up perfectly soft and snuggly, as opposed to never really knowing what you're ending up with.

I am making clothes for LA. So, the expensive fabrics simply make for an expensive outfit. Makes NO sense...yet I am still drawn to them.

Um...yeaaaah. I just started knitting and am absolutely addicted! As far as I know, there aren't many real yarn shops out here or anywhere I go on a regular basis, so I'm pretty safe, but some of the places I've seen online are making me want to buy some luxury yarn! lol
