I'm here. We were supposed to take the 5:20 am ferry over to Seattle tomorrow to catch and early flight to Eugene, OR but when I went to check on my Gmom (90) this morning something didn't seem right so against her will I called 911. It turned out that I was right, she has pneumonia in both of her lungs and also has acute renal failure. They admitted her over night b/c she was so sick and dehydrated. It's really a blessing in disguise for a couple reasons. One is that maybe she'll finally wake up and realize that she can't live independently anymore and will accept some help. Two is that my Dad and his brother (both in Maryland) are growing a pair and deciding that they want to move her back east to take care of her. And Three, I don't have to go Eugene for 3 days to visit DH's jackass uncle who I can't stand.
Good thing you called -- pnemonia can get really bad really fast, and with renal failure, it's even more complicated (was this b/c of the dehydration?).  I hope her recovery is smooth and the forthcoming living situation changes help.

I'm around for a bit; had nephew overnight (he's still here, but dh is playing w/ him at the moment), then headed to Seattle for an evening w/ friends.
