Turks and Caicos Food Budget?
DH and I are trying to price out a 4 night/5 day trip to Providenciales. We would be renting a condo and car on Grace Bay so would be able to do some meals from the grocery store. I have read that the island is pricey but we are kind of clueless what that really means.
Re: Turks and Caicos Food Budget?
My H and I honeymooned on Grace Bay and spent anywhere between $90 - $140 on dinner each night. In addition to an entree, we would normally have an appetizer and one drink each. Keep in mind that the grocery stores are also very expensive. We were lucky that the Seven Stars had a very nice complementary breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. Lunch is a little less expensive, but we did pay about $60 for two chicken sandwiches and non-alcoholic smoothies at the pool bar.
However, the activities are very reasonably priced. Have fun!
DH and I went for 7 nights and between food, an ATV tour and a half day with caicos dream tours, car rental for 3 days and a few souvenirs we spent about 2K. We went to the IGA and bought some beer and liquor, frozen fruit, milk, english muffins, jam, coke, juice and a few other items.
We generally spent about $50 for lunches and $100 - 200 for dinner. You could eat for much less though.
Married Bio and Vendor Reviews!
Ditto to the posters above. We went to the IGA (grocery store) and spent $60 on 4 bananas, 5 plums, a loaf of bread, 1/2 pound of lunch meat, 1/2 pound of cheese, 6 pack of beer, 2 Liter of Sprite, and a box of microwave popcorn.
If you have room in your checked luggage, I recommend packing snacks and other easy traveling foods. I packed cheese crackers, granola bars, instant oatmeal packs, and a tube of Crystal Light drink mix (we had a full kitchen at our condo). Next time we go, I'm also packing a small jar of peanut butter and packs of microwave popcorn.
