If you are going to Vinoklet for New Years...

I know some people on here said they are going to Vinklet for New Years Eve.

What is your DH wearing? When I made the reservation the lady said it was "dressy but the men don't wear tuxedos or anything". I was planning to wear a cocktail dress, should DH wear a suit, polo shirt, something else...?

TIA!

  • I'm not wearing a dress but I am still getting dressed up. My friend that is going will most likely wear a dress or skirt but since the shirt I plan to wear is sleeveless I'm wearing pants to stay warm. I figure my H will wear dress slacks and a button up shirt, maybe a tie.  I wasn't too concerned.  I kind of assume there will be a little bit of everything (as far as attire).
  • Hmm.. since there will be dancing, I guess he can just wear his suit and take off the jacket and maybe his tie as the night goes on. Dinner is usually more formal than the dancing portion, right?

I know I'm over-thinking this, but I always do. :P I'm really excited though, it should be a fun night. And I love my outfit, so that makes any night better :)

  • DH had his HS reunion there 5 years ago.  I can't remember if he wore a suit or just a shirt & slacks.  He would have been way overdressed if he wore a suit.  I say wear whatever you want (well, maybe not a ball gown or floor length formal :-)).  I've seen all types of people at Vinkolet, Valley Vineyards, etc-bikers to yuppies and everything in between.  IMO no one will notice if the guy is over or under dressed, it's all about the ladies!

  • I talked to my SIL, she's not wearing a dress but her H MIGHT wear a suit.  My H and I decided that he needs to wear whatever he'll be comfortable in. He's wearing dress slacks and either a button up shirt/tie (possibly sports coat) OR a button up shirt w/sweater.

Like PP, I really think anyone can get away with wearing anything short of formal attire.

That's kind of what I'm worried about. Suits are kind of formal, right? I guess I'll let him pick, and he will probably take off the jacket after dinner anyway.
