Need reading teacher help :)
Ok so here's the deal, I've been using my sisters blog about her life in Uganda for reading material for my class. I take it, and lower the reading level so they can comprehend and read it independently.
I know they are still interested in the topic, but does anybody have any other good non fiction suggestions that I can adapt for my kids.
High School, ages 15-19
Thanks!

Do you want to keep them in Africa? I have an autobiography of a child soldier that I've used excerpts from that my grade 8s like - I don't have the title here with me in Ottawa, but I could get it for you when I get back to Toronto.
Also - I LOVE Will Ferguson's Hitching Rides with the Buddha. It's really funny, has a smattering of bad behaviour and, again, my kids loved what I used from it:

I think I know what book you are talking about. In fact I am pretty positive you recommended it. It really is a good book. I don't know where it is because I just moved and cannot find anything.
