Nice-ish lunch in Fredericksburg

I'm going to meet my mom there for her b-day lunch.  Any recs for some place good? (Preferably something unique to F'burg, or at least not a chain.)

I read about some place called Foode-- anyone know about it?

Re: Nice-ish lunch in Fredericksburg

  • how much do you want to spend? some restaurants that come to mind are

Old Towne Steak and Seafood..fabulous food

Bavarian restaurant near the train station downtown...I think it is called Bavarian Chef. This place has been hit or miss for me

Fredericksburg Pub, right near the mall is inexpensive.

Kinda chainish, my Vinnys is good for Italian food

ETA, I've never heard of Foode, but I also want to add Renatos to the list for Italian food. The french restaurant in old town is also known to be good

  • Thanks-- this is helpful.  I don't have a set amount in mind, just some place interesting and worth eating at. I like to take her to cool places since she lives alone and doesn't have any foodie friends.  I have to be her foodie influence all on my own  :-)
  • Foode is really good.  They have a Facebook and frequently post menus for the day.  It's worth giving it a try.
