QOTD: What did everyone do last night?

Re: Morning!

  • Morning. We woke up around 11:30 today. It felt so good to sleep in.

Last night we went to this amazing jazz bar in London with friends. They have custom cocktails from all different eras, but they're mainly divided into pre-prohibition and prohibition era drinks.  They made me some really great non-alcoholic mixed drinks, so I was happy. Everyone got up and danced. It was great. London Nesties, I highly recommend the Night Jar by Old Street. The atmosphere there is fantastic.

  • Morning!  We just finished our New Years day dinner.  A compilation of pork, cabbage and legumes.  With noodles and a "gold/yellow food".  So we've got the luck for 2012 in the bag!.

Last night we didn't do anything.  We usually stay tucked in at home safe and sound. H was asleep by 11:40, SS was asleep at 11:58 and Delta was asleep off and on.  I was IM'ing with my cousin in FL.

  • Good afternoon. We're in Cape Town for another couple days. Last night we had dinner down onthe waterfront and were able to watch the fireworks from our table. Finding a can back to the hotel afterwards was next to impossible so instead of going back we went to a few bars and made it back at around 4:30. I am now lying in be trying to recover and contemplating going to the beach.
  • Good morning, and happy new year!

QOTD: We went to grandma in law's house to stuff ourselves silly with MIL's family. I really enjoy being with them. We ate the traditional 12 grapes at midnight and then DH and cousins set off fireworks. The cousins all went out afterwards. I threw in the towel around 5 am, and DH a bit later. I'm thankful I was able to sleep until at least 11 today! We're off to GMIL's house for round two here in a few minutes. I don't even want to think about how many kilos I'm gaining at all these family meals. Thankfully, this is just once (erm, five times over two weeks) a year!!
  • QOTD:   Watched UVA lose to Auburn in the Chick-Fil-A bowl, then went to bed.  This cold is kicking my butt!

  • Morning

Nothing major going on today, I hope it doesn't rain much more so I can run in the woods.

QOTD: We had friends over for dinner, they were gone by 11 and we were in bed and sleep, were woken up at 12 by fireworks shot from over the road so they were LOUD! Poor Maddy wasn't so happy and ended up sleeping in E"s room the rest of the night.

  • Happy first day to a new year!

QOTD: We stayed in last night. Did family baking and had BabyD make some double chocolate mint chip cookies. DH and I had a late dinner: roasted turkey with sage butter, roasted sweet potatoes whipped with honey, roasted garlic green beans, and sage risotto with three cheeses and bacon. And some wine.

  • I'm sick, so we did nothing. I think I "rang in" the new year with a coughing fit.
  • Hi. Um, yeah.

QOTD: I spent last night hanging over the toilet at my ILs. Not because I partied too hard, but because I got a stomach virus. Lovely. Let's just say I've had better NYEs...

  • Very, very late already as it's nighttime already, but here goes.  Today is my birthday!  We went to the ILs house to celebrate New Year's and my birthday with a delicious lunch comprised of leftovers from last night's dinner which leads to...

QOTD:  Last night we ate dinner with the ILs, rang in the new year with grapes and champagne, I was given some wonderful gift for my birthday (and an awesome chocolate cake),  and then we went home and got to sleep around 2am.  Luckily Aurelia decided to let us sleep pretty well.

  • Good Morning INs!!!

Not sure if you mean NYE night or ht was last night here.

For NYE, we got noodles from the local noodle house and had a quiet night at home.  We watched the fireworks from Sydney and some DVDs, then stayed up until about 3 waiting to see if they got the fire on the Melbourne Arts Spire out (yes, they did).

Sunday night, we were planning black-eyed pea and rice salad with spring rolls, but my gas bottle spluttered its last gasps as I was preheating the oven, so I really only warmed the spring rolls.  It was a disappointing meal, but we had a nice evening.  We watched the last few episodes of Yes, Prime Minister and I began my first book of 2012 while DH edited some recordings he did.
