Buying A Home
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.

Landlords: what services do you use for background checks?
Re: Landlords: what services do you use for background checks?
We use Tenant Alert http://www.tenantalert.com/
We also do a search on our state's court website.
I belong to an 'apartment' association (a professional association for landlords, property managers etc). While it is called an 'apartment' association, it serves all landlords. They can provide credit screening, forms, legal updates, vendor referrals etc. I pay about $200/yr to belong plus $8 per credit report, $4 for eviction reports. It is a slamming deal for what you get
I would highly recommend joining a similar association if you are not a professional manager. The value of the forms and legal updates alone is well worth it.
Good luck
