My resolution for the New Year is to be healthier. This includes exercising regularly and eating healthier. So my best friend and I hit the gym in her apartment complex yesterday morning and did a pretty heavy work out for about 45 minutes and...ow. I can't move without some kind of pain somewhere. Our plan is to hit the gym every other day and do some simple exercises by ourselves on our "off" days. I still have yet to do mine (it's 3:30 pm). The thought of doing a sit up right now almost makes me cry..LOL
So if anyone has some vibes to spare for enough will power to force my aching body into more painful positions, I'd gladly take them : )
What's everyone else's resolution(s)?
Re: NY resolutions hurt
I have no idea what kind of shape you're in, but don't overdo it! It won't motivate you any more to feel too tired/sore to do more working out. Why not try something fun like a Zumba class or something low-key like a beginners' yoga class and work your way up to the harder work out?
I say this as someone who gave up running before I really gave it a real chance because I kept running with people who thought nothing of going 2-3 miles at a time when I had never run before at all. It was such an unpleasant experience that I have a nearly visceral negative reaction whenever someone suggests a run to me.
However, I looooove yoga and water aerobics.
To answer your question, my only resolution so far is to get my family moved to Paris a week from today without having a nervous breakdown in the process.
I would love to do some sort of class like that, but the problem is that I'm currently unemployed. So, although I'd have plenty of time to attend a class, I don't feel like I could afford to spend money on something like that - and they're probably pretty expensive. Right now I just feel blessed to have a gym available to me with the different equipment for free. I enjoyed myself yesterday, I'm just sore as heck, lol.
Good luck with the move, I hope everything turns out well for you!

Go for a walk today. Start out with just a short walk. Sounds like you guys overdid it yesterday - don't push yourself today!
I'll fully admit that I'm no skinny girl. I'm not a huge fan of working out, but I took up walking before my wedding and ended up really enjoying it. It was me time when I was home, and really helped my mental state in those crazy weeks before the wedding. After dinner, I'd just head out on the back roads. I started light, and ended up doing three miles by August.
