What is on the agenda for today?
I am still unpacking and washing my clothes from my trip and I think I will be doing that for the rest of the week. Fun!!!
QOTD: What do you do to try to beat the Winter blues?
Re: Good Morning!
Afternoon! I took advantage of DH being off work today. Went back to bed for an hour after DDs 7am feeding and then went out with a friend. We ran some errands together, went to the souq, and had lunch at a Filipino restaurant. DH was happy I brought home the leftovers.
DH wants to go for a run later, which is a fair trade. BabyD has been a bit under the weather so just taking it easy with him. The little girl is still sleeping a ton but we're trying to take advantage of her awake moments.
QOTD: 1) Work out. 2) Enjoy some cozy moments (think book, blanket, hot chocolate). 3) If there is either no sunshine or I can't get out when there is sunshine, I'll go do indoor tanning for 5-min sessions. Discovered that it helped my true winter/snow blues and also helped me not burn like crazy in the spring when there was suddenly skin exposure to the nicer weather.
Good afternoon (for me at least).
I'm at the office now, when I leave here I'll quickly stop by the store to pick up some hooks and nails to finish a craft project and to be able to hang two large frames with prints DH loves (and I would love to hang them instead of having them just lay around gathering dust.) After the fun crafty stuff, I'll probably remove our outdoor Christmas lights, because it has to happen at some point.
QOTD: I'm trying to figure that out. They've been bad lately and I'm trying to figure out things to make it better. Actively relaxing (taking saunas and baths) and doing crafty stuff is what I've been doing over the last week and I'll watch this thread to see if I can get some more ideas that might work for me.

Eating our way through (northern) Italy on vacation

Lazy day here - just washed my windows on the outside and this afternoon I'm going to try to find a Christmas present for my brother in law. I hate how much money people spend on Christmas gifts here, good lord!
QOTD: What winter blues? It's my favorite season! I wish it snowed here on the beach though...
Elenetxu:
I dont know if this question is for me but I will answer it anyway.
The NYE meal was like one big circus but not the good kind. I did manage to drink a lot but then I got a bit sick later that night. I guess it must have been pretty bad if my FIL had to hide the wine from me. hahah
I wore black pants and a black hoodie. My husband said I looked like Sporty spice and I told him he must be Posh Spice since he was wearing his new name brand clothes.
Sorry to hear it was a circus.
Morning! Am back at work today
but at least it's quiet so I can start with my going to the gym every lunchtime resolution...
QOTD: I cosy up with H for pajama weekends (today's the first time since Saturday I am wearing outside clothes
), read books, watch movies, have long bubble baths & eat comforting winter foods. I basically kind of hibernate...
duplicate, sorry!
Morning! Today I have a friend coming over for lunch. I haven't seen her since before Aurelia was born so it'll be fun catching up on life. Other than that the usual: laundry, watch some tv, chat with the baby when she's awake, walk the dogs, etc. A normal day. I'm glad it's still sunny and fairly warm though!
QOTD: I only get winter blues if it's grey outside for more than a few days in a row -- when I lived in Seattle life pretty much sucked. Anyway, I would just make sure to get out of the house or make a party of staying in with movies, books, whatever I need to enjoy the day. Hibernating is nice, but too much of that can be a downer for me too.
