Top 8 Omaha restaurants

http://www.omaha.com/article/20111230/GO/712309955

Thoughts?  Have you tried any of these?

I'm excited to try some new ones that I haven't yet explored - and I really want to hit up the taco trucks.

I went to Dolce last week and loooved it.  I had the chicken salad and my friend had the cheeseburger and said it was the best cheeseburger she's possibly ever had.

DH didn't love Blanc when we went there, but I enjoyed it.

Re: Top 8 Omaha restaurants

  • Saigon Surface is a shoot-off of the Saigon Restaurant on 120th and Center which I love so I think it might be on my list to try.  I love some good Viet food!!
  • My husband and I LOVE Tommy Colina's. So much so that when I was in the hospital having Charlie- Brought in a few of their brunch items. :)
  • Siagon is excellent!

I hit up Zin room a few weeks ago and I was not impressed.

Blanc is pretty good, I think of it as a lunch place mostly.

  • Dos De Oros is the best taco truck around. The green sauce is to die for. I think DH secretly likes to come to Omaha to get taco truck.

  • 1-4 and Extreme Pizza.  have not tried the saigon place but have heard it is fantastic. must go there soon. i'd also like to try Blanc. Thanks for sharing this!

I may have missed it in the article, but why only Top 8? and not Top 10? Did the reviewer just get tired and quit at 8? :)

  • I've eaten at numerous taco trucks from south o as has my dh (more than me). Some are good, some are nasty.
  • I'm not sure what it says about me that I've only ever eaten at a taco truck from the entire list.  Ha!

Thanks for sharing this!  I should make it a NY resolution to try all of these next year!

  • I think I've only been to 1 of them...twisted cork. It was ok.

I did date the guy that is the exec chef at 7M grill when I was younger though. I doubt that counts though....

  • DH and I really liked Grey Plume. It is expensive but it was worth every penny. Delish! We sat at the bar and just chatted and watched everything going on in the kitchen. It was awesome.

We liked Blanc. I am a total burger girl.

  • I haven't tried any of them yet!!  Some I haven't even heard of, but a few our on a list I have on the fridge of restaurants we haven't been to but want to try this year...some are new, some have been around a while, we just haven't had the chance to try them yet!  Grey Plume, Blanc and Tommy Colina's are on my list!  Along with Spezia (I can't believe I haven't been there!) Crave, O! Asian Fusion, Pitch and a few others.  Always love when others on here suggest places!
