Keurig users...

How do you make your coffee? Which k-cups, creamer, etc...

I got a Keurig for Christmas, and I've tried a few of the samples that came with it, but haven't found anything that I love. Wondering what other people use... TIA!! :)

Re: Keurig users...

  • I like Donut Shop for plain coffee. Costco sometimes has it. If not, they normally have Newman's Own, which is pretty similar and also good. For flavored, I like the Pumpkin Spice. I'm not really a big flavored coffee fan, other than pecan, but this has actual spices mixed in with the coffee grounds, not just faux flavoring and it's very good. It is seasonal, though.

I like both cream/milk and sugar in my coffee. My FAVORITE thing I've found is Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss in Sweet Cream. It is dairy creamer (not faux dairy) with some sugar already in it. It's the perfect balance of sugar and cream and it sure is easier just having everything all in one container in the morning. It even froths up like regular milk if you like to use a milk frother.

  • I have been using the Keurig Cafe Mochas and love them as well as the Keurig Chai Lattes.  They are on sale at Randall's right now for $2 off, but I haven't price compared web prices in bulk yet.  You are welcome to come by for a sample of both to try yourself.  (In fact you are welcome to bring sweet H by and I can make us both a cup and we could visit if you'd like - M would love to play with H).  Call my work cell if you want to.

Also they have the Keurig inserts where you put your own coffee in - they have them at Randall's for like $14-5 dollars but you could probably get them cheaper online or at Randall's.

I wasn't crazy about the donut shop coffee flavor, but I did enjoy the Neumann's one I tried - I think it was a south american blend of some sort.

  • i'm a big fan of the green mountain flavored coffees. french vanilla and hazelnut are my standards. i've found a few others from timothy's that i like (german chocolate cake - yummy). dh likes the donut shop and donut shop travel mug if we can get it. i'm currently addicted to the almond joy creamer, which goes great with mine.

since i'm on decaf right now i'm drinking decaf hazelnut and french vanilla from green mountain, lemon zinger tea from celestial seasonings and a pomegranate apple tea (can't remember the brand).  timothy's white hot chocolate is yummy too.

we buy ours from keurig.com and are members of the coffee club. if you buy 4 boxes (dh and i usually get 2 each) then the shipping is free and there's a discount of 10-15% depending on your point level. we've found that the boxes are bigger and there's more selection online, so we rarely buy from a store.

  • I have a few of those thingies (sorry, I forget what they're called) that you put your own coffee into.  You can't fill it up though; maybe a little over halfway. I also get my coffee ground pretty fine.

  • I bought one for DH for Christmas along with a few boxes to get him started.  His favorites so far have been the Tully's Kona Blend, the Green Mountain Black Magic, and the Green Mountain French Vanilla.  He takes his coffee black, so I can't comment on creamers, etc.

Not sure if you already know this, but if you register your machine at Keurig.com - you get a coupon code for Buy 2 boxes, Get 2 free.  DH just ordered 4 more boxes for under $30 shipped using his code.

  • I got one for Christmas too and I went and got some of the Starbucks Breakfast Blend. I have really liked that one. I use the Coffee Mate French Vanilla creamer.

  • Our favorite is the Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice but it's only available once a year, so we stock up when we can!

I haven't price compared in a while and prices have been going up this year everywhere but we usually purchase from Coffee Icon http://www.coffeeicon.com/

They are in Tomball and you can go to their office to pick up your order instead of paying shipping or sometimes if your order is big enough they have free shipping.    About a year ago I had went by to pick up an order and asked if I could sample some of the different k-cups and they sent me home with a goodie bag of different k-cups for free.

  • I have tried so many different things for my Keurig. The best that I found for

hot chocolate, hot cider and the cappucicino is the Grove Square K Cups!  I found them at Walmart but have seen them at HEB as well.  They are inexpensive and so very good!

check out www.shoffee.com.  You can get good deals there too .

  • I also love the pumpkin spice. Butter toffee is my favorite every day coffee. I drink it black, so no creamer recs.

I buy k cups at Kohl's a lot when I get one of their 30% off coupons, Macy's runs good sales quite a bit as well (30% off).

  • I buy my k-cups on Amazon if they are having a good sale or at Coffee Icon (which is in Tomball and I can pick it up and pay no shipping. :))

I don't drink many 'flavored' varieties, so no rec's there...

I regularly have Green Mountain Nantucket and Breakfast blends as well as Wolfgang Pucks Breakfast in Bed.  mmmm.  I need another cup of coffee now. :)

The above may be good in the Grove Square brand, but do not buy the coffee.  It is instant coffe and is nasty. I was so excited because I thought I found a cheap variety, but you get what you pay for. I actually  returned the remainder of the box. I looked it up on Amazon and the reviews are beyond horrible.

Thanks for that info !!!  I will remember that when I get more coffee and let my mom know too!

  • JC Penney sells K-Cups, too, and you can use those $10 off a $10 purchase coupon, making a box of K-Cups under $5. That's a pretty good deal and a good way to buy a box of a random flavor to try out.
