Today is my last day of break and I am trying to relish it. I need to fold some laundry and make soup for lunch for the week, but other than that, I am trying to stay pretty low key today. I am a little nervous about going back to school tomorrow as I am still spotting and m/s has hit and I have been pretty miserable the last two days (poor Ed has been taking care of me and fending for himself since food makes me want to cry) and am wondering how that will mesh with 6th grade....but I am hoping that everything will be fine--maybe being at school will distract me from not feeling well. Plus, feeling sick has to be a good sign...so even though I don't feel good physically, it is making me feel better mentally.
Who's off today? How were your New Years?
Re: Happy Monday
Today is my last day off, too, and I have a TON of stuff I want to get done today.
I need to finish painting (which means a trip to Home Depot for more paint), put the bedroom back together, take down the second Christmas tree, and finish putting the new pub set for the kitchen together. But first, I have to watch the Rose Parade, so I'll start on the tree while that's on.
New Year's Day was good but busy. It was Jim's birthday, so I did breakfast in bed for us with mimosas and then had to drink the rest of champagne last night before it went flat.

I'm off today too, but Myles is pretty sick. We ended up in the ER yesterday because he just couldn't keep anything down, and the poopy diapers just kept coming. So he's got some medication to help settle his tummy. So it's mommy snuggles day because he screams every time we put him down. Not exactly how I planned on spending my last day of break, but I'm glad he was able to have some medicine that helped him.
I'm kind of looking forward to going back to work because I miss my students (just a little bit). though I didn't do ANY of the planning I said I was going to
Happy Monday!
I can't believe it's 2012. I had all last week off and it was amazing. I took care of so many errands, cleaned my place, cooked and relaxed. Now it is back to work and I'm wondering where everyone is at.
Blender, I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I can totally empathize. The last month has been fairly miserable, but I find that once I'm out the door I can generally force myself to ignore the fact that I feel crappy.
New years was fairly uneventful for us. We went to a friend's place but ended up leaving before midnight because I wasn't feeling well. Casey seems to have come down with a skin infection, so we're off to the vet in about 15 minutes to get it checked out. Aside from that, I plan to clean out the pantry today and do some laundry. It's been really nice to have 4 straight days of no work. Hope everyone has a good day.
Good morning and Happy New Year to everyone! Today is a day off and we have a bit to do--gym, laundry--but I've spent most of the morning reading. I woke up feeling like I was getting sick. Ugh.
New Year's was nice. We made seafood enchiladas and have a ton of leftovers that'll hold out for a few days. We toasted the New Year with some champagne at home, then went to bed. Yesterday we spent reading, writing, working on the review website. Nothing too exciting, but relaxing all the same.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Hi ladies.
Today I am trying to get everything done I had planned over the weekend. Laundry, cleaning, packing daycare bags, and putting the last of the boys toys from Christmas together.
New Years was not fun for me. DH and I got a nasty flu bug. I had to ask MIL if she'd still take the boys because it's the first time we just couldn't give them the care/attention they needed. I cried most of the day for feeling guilty and also from being so sick. We are finally in the clear and I don't think the boys caught it.
Tomorrow is back to the grind. Have a great day.
Morning. Blender - I hope you're feeling better soon.
Our NYE was pretti fun. Just hung out with friends. Pretty quiet and low key even though 2 people drank so much they got sick. Yesterday was dinner ay my Dad's and it's always fun to get everyone together.
I already got my run in today but I'm finding my back pretty sore after my runs nowadays. We'll see how long I can keep it up.
When I got home from the gym DH was awake and cleaning cat pee. Seriously. He marked our sliding glass door again in the middle of the night. We did catch it on tape since we set my computer up every night and when we leave the house now. Waiting to call the vet tomorrow to tell him the injection from Friday did not work so we have to try something else. I need this to stop.
Blender-Hope you feel better soon.
FMO-Hope Myles get better..poor thing.
Happy New Years ladies!! I'm back at work and so far it's slow here. Next week is my last day working for the university so I'm trying to enjoy it.
Nothing much going on here except job hunting and trying to get everything ready for grad school.
Hope everyone who's sick feels better soon!
V is off today and spending the afternoon watching football.
Date night tonight - I'm totally excited. We're going for dinner and the show 2 Pianos 4 Hands. I saw it once when I was a teenager and loved it, but this time it's being performed by the original writers so I'm hoping it will be even better.
I forgot to mention this, but on NYE we went to my next door neighbour's party. She's offered to babysit before but I haven't taken her up on it yet because I don't really know her *that* well. Well, not only did we get a chance to know them better, but I also found out that she used to work as a nanny (and she was amazing with Darian - he was all smiles all night). So I definitely feel more confident about taking them up on that babysitting offer in the future.
