Things to do/places to eat in Orlando

Hello all, we are planning a five day trip to Orlando next month.  We are staying two miles from Disney World.  Any suggestions for me?  We are planning on Disney for two days and have reservations one night for the Coral Reef restaurant.

We are going with family and my DH and I are also looking to "get away" one night for dinner, whether it be at Disney World or somewhere else in Orlando.

 Thanks!!

  • Do you have a cuisine preference?  Steak, seafood, Greek, Italian?  This would help us answer your question as there are a LOT of restaurants near the area you will be.

  • No preference, I'm a foodie so we love trying new places and new foods, especially different ethnic cuisines.  I should have noted that in my original post ;)

ETA- Sorry, I realize that's broad, but we are open to anything!

  • Arabian Nights - It's not gourmet good but cool as a family night.

For a date night - I'd rec. the restuarant in the Contemporary Resort.  You can watch the fireworks and Jiminy Cricket is piped in during the show.  It is good food.  I loved the tuna three ways appetizer.

  • The restaurant at the Contemporary is called California Grill, and it's very popular but it can be difficult to get reservations.  The Ravenous Pig is a great restaurant, but it's in Winter Park.  Seasons 52 is a popular chain restaurant.

  • I highly recommend Downtown Disney. Lots of fun things to see and do and good restaurants too.

Agreed.  Although, like Kappa, I love Seasons 52 and highly recommend it.
