Project idea help

I started a new job two weeks ago running an after school program for kids K - 6.  The program is part of a large daycare / preschool.  Funds and supplies are limited and we are in the fellowship hall (basement) of a church.

The director wants us to do some community service projects so I was thinking of teaming up with Meals on Wheels, who we share space with, to make something for Valentines Day and Easter for the clients.  Any ideas?

Re: Project idea help

  • What about place mats?  Just us copier paper or construction paper and the kids can color and decorate.

Of course, cards would be nice too.

  • I used to volunteer for Project Angel Heart and they wouldn't allow their bags to be decorated with anything religious (Christmas, Easter, etc) but Valentines Day might be alright.  Make sure you check with Meals on Wheels policies Smile

That sounds like a great thing to do with the kids... nothing warms my heart more than a kid's coloring.  Place mats sound great, or the bags the food is delivered in, too.

Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

  • I did not think about decorating the bags!  Great idea!
