Organizing gift bags

How do you organize your gift bags?  I had Christmas bags inside another bag but it's not working so well.

The other bags and tissue paper are in one of those large wing flap storage bins but it's now overflowing--and the tissue paper really doesn't fit in it length-wise.

So--do you have a method that is working for you?

Re: Organizing gift bags

  • I have all tissue paper on a shelf in the linen closet, and a nail on the wall to hang year-around gift bags in a larger handled bag.

All Christmas bags are in another larger gift bag and get stored with the Christmas stuff.

    Nothing too creative or ingenious.

  • I pretty much do what PP does, I keep tissue paper in a drawer and all gift bags go in other gift bags of similar holiday/celebratory time

  • I have a box that I have them in. They're all folded flat, and I fold the tissue paper up into thirds so they lay flat. I coordinate the tissue paper to the bag, and slip a sheet or two on the inside of the bag. So that way, when I need a gift bag, I pull out the bag and the tissue paper is already there inside.

  • I just flatten the bags out and stack them on a shelf in the closet.  Tissue paper I stack on top of the bags.  It works pretty well for me, but I don't have a very large supply to manage.
  • I bought an under-the-bed storage bag for our giftwrap.  It's long enough for rolls, plus has plenty of room for flattened boxes and all the gift bags.  I only keep the Christmas wrap in it, though.  I have a million baby boy gift bags crammed inside a giant bag.  I hope to eventually get around to cutting them up for scrapbook decorations, as I will never give enough baby gifts to use them up that way.

  • I found a hanging gift bag sorter. I hang it on the back of my under the stair door and keep my bags, tags, tape, ribbon, tissue paper, etc in it. I have a separate container for gift wrap rolls
