Morning Sickness Input

So, I've finally given in and started taking the B6 and 1/2 a unisom. I'm taking the combination once a day right before bed. Problem is, I feel good for about an hour before bed but wake-up feeling like crap again.

How many times a day did you take the combination? HELP ME! I hate feeling like this.

Re: Morning Sickness Input

  • I know this isn't what you asked (I haven't tried the combo you talked about) but have you tried ginger root capsules?  They have helped me. Actually anything ginger...ginger candy, ginger beer, etc.

Also, sea bands help a bit, but that may be a mind over matter thing.

  • Yep, my B6 pills have ginger in them. And, I've been gulping down strawberry and fresh ginger smoothies. I hardly got any morning sickness with Neena so this is a whole new thing for me. Thanks for your input! :-) How are you feeling?

  • Well, boo, I was hoping I could help.

I certainly feel better than some women report, but I just have this constant, pit of the stomach queasy feeling, even if I'm not hanging over a trash can.  Its icky.  I told DH its like being on a cruise ship (I get motion sick). I can't get away from it.

I've been scarfing carbs in an attempt to appease my stomach and its a good temporary fix.  Unfortunately it means I've put on about 8 pounds already.

    Hope you feel better Jenn!!

  • Oh no! Sorry to hear. I don't have any suggestions, but I hope you find some relief!

This is my fear when we decide to have #2. I barely had any sickness with Landon. I've heard an OWT that girls cause more MS than boys... but I guess that's not the case with you, since Neena is a girl.

  • Nothing but zofran worked for me and sometimes it didn't even work...

This was pretty much true with me too. I did keep a sleeve of Ritz crackers on my nightstand. Anytime I woke up during the night and as soon as I woke up in the morning I would eat a couple crackers. I found that if I didn't let my stomach get empty it helped. Hope you feel better soon!

    Same with me
  • I was taking my B6 in the morning and 1 Unisom tablet at night before bed, but I would wake up in the middle of the night feeling awful. I felt like the periods that I was actually sleeping, I was knocked out. But it definitely didn't help me with the nausea and vomiting. Zofran, Reglan, and phenergan didn't work for me. Sadly, my morning sickness just got better over time. I did purchase a Prima Bella band, but it cost $200 and didn't work. Good luck finding a remedy that works for you and I hope you feel better VERY soon!!!!

    My boring blog
  • I was sooooo sick with Nolan and hardly sick at all this time, so I don't think those OWT are true ;)

My saving grace was warm ginger ale and hard candies and keeping a full tummy whenever possible. GL to you- m/s is the worst!

  • Unisom helped me during the day but once I went to sleep and woke up it was like my "morning" sickness thought it was morning all over again. Even a 5 minute cat nap would restart the cycle for me. Changing my prenatals helped some but eventually it went away on its own around 20 weeks maybe? Until then I tried to only sleep during the night if possible.
  • In the end, nothing truly helps me but phenergan.  Zofran worked super well but the constipation and headaches weren't worth it.  I don't like the idea of Reglan because of anecdotal things I have read (personal choice.)  I'm so sorry you are suffering, it truly is rotten. I am 16 1/2 weeks and I'm still puking daily.

Preggie Pops and Preggie Pop Drops are awesome!  Also, oatmeal cookies.  The sweetness of the cookies is appealing, and then the oatmeal sticks to my ribs.  Bonus, you can make/ get them organic and they're not that unhealthy.

I hope you feel better really soon!
