Travel Agent for Cruises

Happy New Year everyone! Can anyone recommend a travel agent to contact for cruises? This will be my first time booking a cruise for a large amount of people and I would feel more comfortable using a travel agent.

Re: Travel Agent for Cruises

  • I'd probably call the cruise line directly as opposed to working with an agent.  If you work with one of their group agents, you will likely get a great deal on your cabin.

Exactly. Plus when we booked directly with the cruise line, every time the price changed he called to let me know.

  • I have a great one. Donna Waryga she owns Concord Travel 610-459-1130. Tell her Beth sent you
  • I've had good experiences working with a few different agents from CruCon.com, and once working with Marlene Battle (http://www.mbcruises.com/) who was recommended by some friends.

(I've had mediocre experiences both times I've booked with vacationstogo.com)

  • I sent you a PM... I highly recommend going with a private agent rather than the cruise line. You can get much more personalized service, and have a person who will help you if anything goes awry (though hopefully not!)

Good luck with whatever you decide!

  • Smartcruiser.

Funny story about them.  My mom used to be a TA, so she always books her own stuff.  However, she saw smartcruiser had better pricing online than going direct.  Normally she'd just book electronically, but she had a question and called.  The woman who answered the phone was actually one of her close friends and previous co-workers.  My mom had no idea the place she called was even local.

We booked through them a couple years ago and got a better price than direct as well.  Basically, it's the same price overall, but they give you some back in onboard credit.  Or they'll offer a free upgrade or something.  I'm not in the market for a cruise now, but I'll get emails about sales every so often.

  • I always book directly through the cruise line.  They seem to have the best deals.
  • Also check out CruiseCompete.com. We booked via a TA we found through that site for our honeymoon. When we looked again for another cruise, we saw the same TA had a great deal and we were happy with them previously, so we booked with them again.
