turns out having a baby is a quick way to drop 30 pounds..

I had my 2 week pp visit today.  I'm 6 pounds away from my post pregnancy weight. I couldn't believe it.  Breast feeding is the best :)

Oh and my clothes fit again.  Thank goodness.

  • Yeah, I was feeling that way when the boys were that little... but it all came back!

  • Congrats!!!

I was hoping to drop below my babyweight but have yet to do that. I'm hovering at exactly the number I was when I got pregnant.

  • Kristy, I am not surprised at all-- you have been such a relaxed and groovy mom throughout this entire pregnancy and birth, that I'm not shocked at all that your post-pregnancy time has been as happy!

You are one hot mama! (And deservedly so!)

  • Congratulations!!!

I'm hoping to stay within the weight gain range my doctor gave me (15-25 pounds) and then drop it all (and then some) next summer while on maternity leave. My fingers are crossed! So far I've only gained 4 pounds overall, so I think it's still possible.

  • That is awesome! Congratulations. I am sure it feels so good to be back in pre-pregnancy clothes.  1 1/2 years later, I am 10 lbs shy, but I am ok with it. I will get there.

  • Yeah, pretty crazy huh? I had the same experience and am now more than 10 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight, bodies are amazing things!

  • Ah, good for you!  I was sad to hear that I didn't have a 30lb. baby.  Indifferent

I gained 29lbs while pregnant (plus 10lbs. of wine & chocolate while TTC) and lost 20lbs. within the first two weeks.  Those last 20lbs. seem pretty comfortable where they are though.  I currently have one pair of pants.  I wish I was joking.

    Totally this! And congratulations :)

  • Just be careful! A week after delivery I was 5 pounds less than pre-pregnancy, but all of that quick snacking while doing eveything,  pumping BFing etc added up quickly!
  • That's a nice way to start off the New Year!  :-)
  • That's great! I lost 25 lbs really fast, but I gained 45, so it took me over a year (and a membership to weight watchers) to lose the last 20 lbs.

  • You're. Killing. Me!

I lost everything pretty quickly in the first two weeks (I only gained 22 while pregnant), but as soon as I went back on BCP I quickly gained 15 pounds... which I am now at the gym every morning at 5:30 trying to lose!
