After nearly 7 years...

... I have finally gotten DH to watch the Harry Potter movies with me!  I got the Blue-ray complete set for Christmas, and DH and I have watched up to #6 since then.  He actually called me on his lunch break yesterday and said, "We need to watch 5 and 6 tonight so that we can watch 7 and 8 on Friday.  I don't want to start the last one and not be able to finish it in one sitting."  I was in shock.  He loves them!

I don't know why, but he was so against them for the longest time, swearing he'd never like them.  Now he can't get enough!  He even suggested that we read the series together out loud before bed.

Who is this man, and what has he done with my husband?!

Re: After nearly 7 years...

  • My DH was the same way, but with the book series. He only reads books about the Warhammer 40k (if you must know http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000 ) world. Absolutely nothing else. My younger brother and I are both really into Harry Potter and I kept wanting him to read the series. After we got engaged/before we got married, DH was unemployed for 9 months and had no money to buy any books. I made him take my brother's copy of the first book home with him. He read it, but wouldn't admit that he liked it. I made him take home the second one, by the third book he finally admitted that they're really good. He will now proudly don his Hufflepuff shirt and bicker with my brother and I why Hufflepuff isn't lame, like we say it is.

  • lol this is great.  I just had a chat with my H about how I want an Avada Kedavra button in my car for moronic drivers, and he was like Abra Cadabra???

I need to sit his azz down and train him, just as you have so adequately trained yours... ;-)

  • Hahaha, I would love one of those buttons, too!  DH asked me why I didn't have a Gryffindor scarft yet.  I told him that he was welcome to buy me one to celebrate when we finish the last movie (we we are doing right now).
