So close duckis. I cannot remember, have you announced a name?
The twins are being evicted on Feb.6 if they don't come on their own but I believe the hope is that they will not come before 36 weeks so she can birth close to home instead of San Diego.
Rita Alexandra, but we'll most likely call her Allie.
Rita was my grandmother's name, and Alexander is my grandfather's name. We picked the name long before my grandmother died, and I have this odd need for people to know that. I got to tell her the name a couple weeks before she passed, and my mom said it brought her a lot of happiness in her last days.

It's not currently in the top 1000 names, but it does fit in with the resurgence of old lady names, so I wouldn't be surprised if it shot up in the next 5-10 years.
Honestly, though, it's not a name that most people like. So I also wouldn't be surprised if it stays fairly obscure.

My due date was October 14th. We had an original move date of October 8th. I figured I'd be late but didn't want to have it so close to our due date so we got a late September move date. I think it was a week to a week and a half that I went into labor. I helped move and we moved to a second floor unit, so that helped I'm sure. I gave birth the 6th!

Why?

Ha, Cali, because H is among the people who doesn't think Rita is a pretty name. We considered Alexandra Rita, but I don't think it flows as well as Rita Alexandra. So she'll be one of those weirdos that goes by her middle name.

I agree with Cali, Rita is a perfectly good name, it was my grandmother's name too.
Does you H's family suck? are there no good names on his side? does he get to name the next one?
He gets to name the next one.
Up until my grandmother died, I was calling her Al or Allie. Then I guess I felt more of a need to use Rita, so I have been referring to her as that for the last couple months. Now most people have picked it up and started calling her Rita, but H and my MIL still call her Allie. My sister calls her Alf, and my Mom and brother are lobbying for Lexi (no.).
IDK, my family kindof has a habit of calling people by multiple names. My grandfather went by his middle name growing up, but by his first name professionally. So most of my family calls him by his middle name, and most of his friends call him by his first. Same with my uncle on my Dad's side. And I have a ton of cousins who are called by their middle names.
And then there's me. My full name is Christina. I was called Tina until 4th grade, and then decided I wanted to change it to Christy. I have family members that still call me Tina occasionally. Obviously I wasn't confused by it because it was my own doing. But I've always seen names as more fluid, and more a reflection of the relationship between people than the identity of the individual. I'm assuming that within the first 6 weeks I'll have come up with some ridiculous nickname for her and her actual given name will be a moo point anyway.

The problem with Rita as a middle name is that it winds up sounding like something you can order at TGI Fridays.
I like Allie, but I like Rita too. Your H is weird.
