Recommend a vacation spot
Can anyone recommend a vacation spot on the beach but not down the Cape? Would like to stay in New England. And not pay more than $1500/2000 for a week in August. Looking for a decent beach and things to do within walking distance (ice cream, mini golf, arcade, fried dough, restaurants, etc) Thank you!

I always go to Hampton, NH when I want to go to the beach. There are a bunch of cottages but I don't know the cost to rent.
My brother and his FI always go to Wells Beach in Maine.
SO's family always rents a house in Wells, but that belongs to a friend of the family. Wells is fun.
